He nodded pouring himself another glass of wine. “I did a few jobs for them, but not for very long.” He motioned to the empty glass of wine in front of Xochitl. “Would you like me to pour you one?”

“No,” she shook her head. “I’m driving all the way to San Diego after this.”

“Well, it wouldn’t be right away, and you’ll have food in your system,” he said pouring her a glass anyway. “We still have a lot to go over. You’ll be fine.”

She started to protest as the bartender dropped another tray of food. “More?” Xochitl eyed the tray.

“I told you it was a lot.” He finished pouring the wine almost to the rim of the glass. “It’s why one glass won’t do anything to you.” He picked up his own glass and held it out to her. “To your new and improved website. I was able to recover everything you lost, you know.?”

“You were?” she asked relieved as she picked up her glass of wine and clinked his. “And then some,” he leaned over and tapped the touch screen on her laptop, brushing his body up against hers in the process. Xochitl watched sipping her wine as he tapped away, confused when he tapped out of her website and onto her files instead. “I backed everything up here.” She turned to him. “How’d you get it in my files? That’s not part of my website, right?”

“Well, when I have remote access to your laptop, I have access to everything,” he explained without even looking at her as he continued to tap away. “Makes better sense if it’s backed up on your computer in case your website ever goes down again. “He opened up a zip file that had several files in it. “These are your posts.” He pointed at one folder, then the other. “And this here is all your media.” He explained more about the changes and upgrades to her website. They went over things she knew she’d be reaching out to him to for because it was all so technical it was already making her head spin. He must’ve noticed how overwhelmed she felt because he smiled when she turned to him. “Don’t worry, sweetheart. You know I’m just a call away. I’ll walk you through anything that gets confusing. But I promise you, all these upgrades will make your life so much easier in the long run.”

Inhaling and exhaling a bit exaggeratingly, Xochitl smiled and sipped her wine. “God, I hope so. I hate this. My brain is so techy lazy.”

Rigo laughed. “Well, then be glad you have me on speed dial. You know I’m always there for you.”

He explained more about all the changes he’d made. Some more complicated than others and some he had yet to make because he was waiting on some certificates or something or other to expire so he could replace them. Like he’d originally set up her website, there were still a lot of things he’d be tweaking in the background for her, because he said it’d be little tricky for her but simple for him to just do himself. But most importantly, he’d recovered what she needed for her presentation. When they were finally done with everything she needed to know, Xochitl felt a little better about having kept her lunch with Rigo from Lex until the last minute. The man had been his usual professional self through and through. There was nothing she needed to feel guilty about like she’d begun to think. Now she could drive to La Jolla, surprise Lex, and his whole family who’d now know they were an official couple.
