CHAPTER 42

BROCK

I’m not a people person.

But I’ll be whatever the fuck Olive needs me to be.

If that means sweet-talking and asking for a million favors before the end of the week, then so be it.

But this isn’t just for Olive. It’s time to wreak havoc on all ofEden, and disrupt what I should have known was horrific and cruel.

I was so fucking ignorant.

We all were.

I will never understand what Olive or Hannah are going through.

But we can fuckingfightfor them.

The shipment shows up at our door Saturday morning, and the same hour I get the call we needed.

“You’re in,” I tell Dylan, who grins broadly. “You better do your best fucking work.”

“Oh, it’ll be the best thing they’ve ever tasted,” he promises me, handling his shipment with care. “And the last.”

“A celebrity chef hosting a dinner for the board ofEden? Fucking brilliant,” Killian adds. “My part of the plan is in place. There is a protest planned for tonight, right outside the gates ofEden. And I’ll be there.”

“Okay. What exactly is your plan?”

I haven’t discussed it with Killian, and he gives me a bone-chilling smile.

“Mayhem.”

I shrug. “Sounds about right.”

We keep an international news station on the television; the headlines replaying.

Breaking news: Canada to offer asylum to Omegas

Sanctions threatened in response

“What made them change their mind?”Dylan asks, carefully placing his ingredients in a container.

“Human fucking decency,” Killian mutters.

I shrug.

“I have no idea,” I admit. “But it gives me hope.”

And with the business deal fromEden…

This all might just work out in the end.

“What do we do once we get her out?” Dylan asks. “What happens then?”

“Well, we’re never letting her out of our fucking sight, that’s for sure,” Killian mutters. “At least for the foreseeable future.”

“We bite her,” I murmur, and they both turn to look at me.
