What thehellis going on?

Dylan nods at him as Killian leads me away from the living room and past the kitchen.

“I can walk on my own,” I snap, but he chuckles as we walk past the flight of stairs and turn a corner.

“Hardly,” he murmurs, amused. “Like I said, you’re lucky you don’t need stitches.”

We continue in silence until we reach an inconspicuous set of dark brown double doors. Killian presses a button on a panel next to them, and it’s only when I hear the faintwhirrthat I realize what we’re waiting for.

“You guys have anelevator?” I gasp.

How rich are these men?

“Brock and Dylan do,” Killian confirms, as the doors open. “I was visiting today, but it looks like I’m staying for the foreseeable future.”

My stomach churns as we enter the small space and the doors close shut.

His arm is still wrapped around my waist when he moves his lips to my ear.

“Don’t think,” he whispers, and I shudder at his breath against my neck. “That I don’t know exactly what you’re planning. You think you can escape us? It doesn’t work that way. In fact, I would say you’re indebted to me personally.”

I shiver at his low baritone, his scent enveloping me as the elevator moves at an infuriatingly slow pace.

My inner Omega stirs awake, and a terrifying urge to touch him floods my brain.

Alpha!

“I have afamily, Killian,” I whisper.

“We’re your family now.”

The doors open and I swallow the lump in my throat, refusing to let tears fill my eyes.
