Oh my God, oh my God

There’s no question that he heard me, and a sigh echoes from an aisle away.

“You know, it doesn’t have to be difficult.”

His voice, low and smooth, is full of arrogance.

Yes, it does, you asshole.

It has to be difficult, because if he catches me, he’ll rip my freedom away.

I’ll never make it back home.

I scoot on my butt, my back pressing against a row of energy bars, and close my eyes as pain cascades throughout my foot.

His footsteps draw near, until he’s inches away from me on the other side of the shelf, his peppery scent overwhelming my senses.

And then he just…stands there.

He’s toying with me.

“Running will make this harder on you. I don’t mind a chase, though.”

Tears fill my eyes.

I silently curse him, unable to control the shaking in my hands.

His voice is too low and dark to be anything but evil.

“You’re injured. I can smell your blood.”

My eyes widen.

“It’s tempting, by the way. Fucking delicious.”

What thefuck?

I’m trapped in a deserted gas station with a psychopathic Alpha.

This isnotthe way my story ends.

But he stands there, inches from me, his intoxicating scent pumping through my bloodstream.

My hands grip onto my backpack as I watch the red stain on my foot grow bigger.

Fuck.

Another step, and his shadow looms over me.

Worn black combat boots fill my line of vision.

“Come on out, little Omega,” he taunts, his voice far too close to my ear.

Strong hands are on me, hauling me to my feet. I try to lean on my good foot to fight back, but hiss in pain as my heel burns.

“Hey! Stop.Stop.” His words, hushed and deadly, still me in place as his hands dig into my shoulders, holding me upright.

“Get your hands off me.” I snap, unable to keep the tremor out of my voice. “Let go of me. I’ll scream.”
