It only takes me a day to pack my life into two suitcases and an overstuffed duffel bag. My car is filled, my first two weeks of rent have been paid for a small apartment located in the suburbs of Brisbane.

The house is silent and still when I creep down the stairs. I’m out the door and in my car in a blink.

When I pull out of my driveway, I watch my home shrink in the reflection of the rear-view mirror.
