The person you are trying to call is unavailable.

“Shit,” I whisper, trying again. I try calling five times before coming to the conclusion that she has blocked my number.

I go back to my account and quickly hit delete on the post, but it’s too late. It already has so many views, comments, and shares.

“Don’t panic, bro,” Brennon says, taking a long slurp of his coffee. “It’ll all blow over. No one will care in a week or so.”

“Yeah. Right.” I ground out, staggering to my feet.

I would never do this to her. She has to know this.

I rush outside, not even bothering to get shoes, and drive over to her house. My heart sinks when her car isn’t in the driveway.

I’ve barely put my foot out the door, when the screen door flings open and Sam strides out onto the porch, a murderous expression on his face.

“Sam,” I quickly start, jogging over to him. “Where is she?”

“Gone.”

My chest heaves. “What?”

“She packed up and left. Honestly? I don’t blame her. After what you did.” His face contorts into an expression of pure fury.

“I didn’tdoanything!” I shout.

“Yeah. That’s exactly what it looks like.” Sam nods sarcastically. “Do everyone a favour andfuck off.”

His hands shoot out in front of him and slam into me. I stumble back.

“Sam, wait—”

He shoves me harder and harder with each step, until my back is pressed against Brennon’s truck.

“Don’t ever speak to her again.”

His lips twist around his words as he turns his back on me and stomps up the stairs.

My head is spinning.

Every part of me is shaking when I reverse out of their long driveway. I try again to reach her, but it sends me straight to voicemail.
