“Will I get to see you there?” Jack asked Wesley.
“I’ll be there every day.”
Jack looked ecstatic. “This is the best day of my life. This summer is going to rock! Thanks, Mom.”
“Let me get the contract updated right away. Once you sign it, you can move into Bluff House,” said Wesley. “All right, my man, be good for your mom, and I’ll see you very soon.”
“Thanks for all this stuff and the interview. The kids at school will be so jealous.”
Ava maneuvered Jack toward the door, feeling a bit numb. “I’ll talk to you soon.”
“Send me what specs you want for the chopper.” Wesley waved at them as they exited the room. “Regina will arrange to have it on site when you arrive in Oldport.”
The long glance over her shoulder when she thought Wesley had turned away suggested she’d carried a flame for him.Let’s hope this flame remained small and hidden. Let’s hope this flame didn’t turn into an inferno and burn her to the ground.
