“I don’t think the kidnapper usually tells his victim where she’s being held.”

“So. You’re going to have to decide. Am I your victim...” I pressed my body against his, and the strength of his arousal pressed against my leg. “... or am I something else?”

Sebastian’s arms slid behind my buttocks, lifting me up as he slid his thigh between my legs. “You’re the bane of my existence, is what you are.”

“I’m not going to make this easy on you. You don’t deserve it.”

“Oh, trust me. Not for one red-lipstick-lined minute did I think you’d cut me some slack.”

“Are you going to tell me what this is all about?” I needed to know. My emotions were in turmoil. One second, I was excited to be back in his arms and the next I couldn’t stand to be near him.

Sebastian’s hands settled on my hips. “I will, once I’m certain you won’t make good on your threat to drive a knife through my heart.”

“Give me one and let’s find out.”

“Tsk. Tsk. I won’t make it that easy on you, either.” He pulled my hands to his hips and pressed them down firmly . My skin tingled beneath his touch and my breath caught at his intimate gesture. “If you behave, then I’ll tell you as much as I know. But you’re going to have to earn your information.”

“The handcuffs again?” Why did I get warm just thinking about velvet lined handcuffs I’d never even seen before?

Sebastian looked surprised before he chuckled. “Again, not what I was thinking, but you always surprise me, Princess. No. For tonight, just dinner will do.”

“Dinner? That’s it?”

“Yes. You’ll find everything you need here in your room. I had some clothes bought for you and there’s an assortment of toiletries in the bathroom.” He walked away as if that were it... the end of the discussion.

“Wait!”

He stopped with his hand on the doorknob. “What else?”

“Am I just supposed to... stay here? What do I do?”

“I don’t care. Watch tv. Read a book. Paint your nails. I have work to do. I’ll see you this evening. Be ready by seven.”

That was it? Lock me in a room and leave me to twiddle my thumbs while he goes to do whatever it was he did?

“This is insane. I’m not having dinner with you.” I pouted, flopping into the recliner he’d so easily jumped over a minute before.

“Stop being a brat. This doesn’t have to be hard, Princess, but how easy or hard it ends up being is completely up to you. I’ll treat you accordingly.”

He opened the door, then turned back to me. “But your ass better be ready for dinner at seven or I’ll come in and dress you myself.”

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw the owl where I had dropped it on the floor. Sebastian barely got the door closed before the owl smashed against it. His footsteps trailed off down the hall, his laughter echoing behind him.
