“Thanks for proving my point, Noah.” Travis saluted me, smirking as Liam faced him and threw his middle finger up.

“Always happy to help. Although I’m obligated to side with Liam, since he’s my boyfriend.”

At the word “boyfriend,” Liam glanced over at me, and he gave me a soft look that made me melt. I still couldn’t believe that he was mine, but he was, and the way he was showing it so openly in front of our friends…this was the happiest I’d ever been. And I was pretty sure he was happy too, judging by the smile that seemed to be permanently on his face today.

Then a sudden thought struck me. “My boyfriend is a footballer. How the fuck did I end up with afootballer?”

Liam and Travis both started laughing, and Liam’s grin turned evil. “As part of your boyfriend privileges, you get to come to allll my matches.”

“No!” I buried my face in my hands with a loud groan. “Is it too late to back out? Someone save me from this torture.”

“Too late. You’re stuck with me now.”

“I guess there are some upsides to being with you.” I shamelessly raked my gaze over him, and his eyes darkened, his tongue darting out to slide over his lips as he stared right back at me.

“No eye fucking in the kitchen. House rule,” Travis called from the fridge, where he was rummaging through the shelves. “Moving on to more important topics—does anyone have any food? I’m out of eggs, and there’s no bacon.”

“Nah, I used the last of my eggs on Thursday. Want to order?” Liam suggested. He grinned when my stomach rumbled as if on cue.

Travis was already pulling out his phone. “Maccy D’s? I don’t know how many people stayed over, but if I order enough McMuffins and hash browns for twenty of us, they’ll get eaten, right?”

As I poured boiling water from the kettle into the three mugs, Liam moved back to stand beside me, curling his arm around my waist. “Yeah. Do it.”

And he did, and it was the best morning I’d had since I’d moved here. More people gradually began to wake up, congregating in the kitchen, where we all feasted on McDonald’s breakfast, washed down with huge mugs of tea and coffee. After that, all the housemates gathered together to tackle the clean-up, with Liam stealing kisses from me whenever he could as we worked to get the house back into some kind of order.

When we were done and everyone else had left other than Kian, who was staying over until Sunday, we collapsed on the sofas in the lounge. Liam was thumbing at his phone, and I leaned my head towards his, curious.

When he saw me looking, he shielded his phone with his hand. “Eyes off my phone.” I raised a brow, staring at him until he elaborated, amusement dancing in his eyes. “I’m planning something for us, okay? So keep your eyes to yourself, or it’ll ruin the surprise.”

A wide smile overtook my face. “Okay.”

Whatever it was, I couldn’t wait.
