He tucked my hair behind my ear. “Tell me you love me.”

“I love you, Tyler Sanderson,” I repeated.

“I love you, Marisa.” He kissed my hand, then my lips.

“Help me.” I tried to scoot over. He helped adjust me. “Lay with me,” I said.

“I don’t think the nurse will approve.”

“I don’t give a damn.”

His chuckle was music to my ears. “That’s my girl.” He wasted no time adjusting me so that he could fit with me in the small bed outfitted for one person.

Having the man I loved holding me made everything better. Love was an instantaneous remedy to the pain I was in. I wasn’t ready to be discharged, but as I finally shut my eyes, lying safe in Tyler’s arms, I knew his love was the only medicine I’d ever need.
