Will went to Elizabeth and wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close and kissing her softly.

She smiled up at him. "What was that for?"

He shrugged. "I just love you. That’s all."

"I have agreatidea,"Will announced as they made their way into their suite later that night.

"What might that be?"

"Let's pop that champagne and take a bubble bath. Did you see the tub?"

"OfcourseI saw the tub, how could I miss it? There's room for six people in there."

"As long as there's room for two…"

He turned on the faucets, adjusting them to just the right temperature, and they kissed over and over, playfully undressing each other while the tub filled.

"Time for some champagne?" he eventually asked.

"Mm, definitely." She dipped her hand into the tub. "The water’s perfect."

"I'll be right back."

He returned a moment later and placed the glasses on the vanity, aimed the champagne bottle out the bathroom door and popped the cork, then poured them each a glass. He disappeared again and returned a moment later with a small hurricane lamp and a candle, and at her questioning look, he shrugged.

"I packed them. Just in case."

He placed the lamp on the vanity and lit the candle, then turned off the bathroom light. After picking up his glass of champagne, he climbed into the tub and waited for her to join him. She settled herself between his legs, her back to his chest.

He reached around her, holding his glass. "Should we toast?"

She leaned back and looked up at him. "Yes. To us."

He smiled and kissed her nose, then lightly touched his glass to hers. "To us."

Elizabeth wokeSaturday morning with a bit more energy than Will. She wanted to get moving, while he wanted to get naked—okay, stay naked—and yes, get moving, but not in quite the same way thatshewanted to get moving.

“It's already ten o'clock—we've wasted half the morning! Come on, lazy, drag that sexy tush out of bed,” she prodded.

He felt the bed shift and then she was straddling his bare hips and tickling his ribs. He grabbed her wrists and held them, but was distracted by the sight of her necklace, peeking out from the V-neck of her shirt.

Dinner had been festive, with conversation—and wine—flowing freely, and when they’d left the inn, happily buzzed from the wine, he’d convinced her to go into a jewelry store. She’d resisted at first, telling him the shop was ridiculously expensive, and he laughed outright, telling her she would have to come up with a better excuse than that.

She’d finally given in, and when he noticed that her attention had rested on a pair of silver and diamond earrings in the shape of starfish, with a matching pendant necklace, he immediately told the clerk they would take the set.

She’d fussed at first, until he kissed her silent. “Why can't I buy you something? Can’t you just smile and say, 'Thanks, Will, it's lovely,' and be done with it?"

She shook her head and muttered something about him always needing to get his way, and then said exactly that: “Thanks, Will. It’s lovely.”

Now, he held the pendant between his fingers, then lifted her hair to see the earrings.

“I knew they would look perfect,” he said.

“They’re beautiful. Thank you again.”
