“We have to clean this up or he'll eat it,” Elizabeth said, laughing as she watched him.

“You know he's completely high on catnip, right?” Will said, and chuckled as the cat flew around the room, chasing imaginary prey.

He stood from the floor and held out a hand to help her up, then bent to pick up all the shredded bits of paper. They locked up and shut the lights off, all but those on the tree, and headed upstairs.

Will lit the fireplace in the bedroom while Elizabeth was in the bathroom, and then stretched out on the bed, wearing a bright red Santa hat and red boxers. A moment later she emerged and turned to the bed, and they burst out laughing. It seems she’d been similarly inspired, and was adorned in a similar hat. To his delight, however, she also wore a silky bit of red lingerie.

“We're ridiculous,” she said, still laughing.

“That’s the last word I’d use to describe you.” He patted the bed. “Come over here, Mrs. Claus.”

She giggled and climbed onto the bed with him, and he pulled her up to straddle his lap. “Now, tell me… Just how naughty have you been?”

She murmured against his lips. “Not nearly as naughty as I plan to be.”
