She narrowed her eyes. “This is a trap.”

“I wouldneverdo anything to a wet girl wrapped in a small towel.” He laughed at her doubtful expression. “I won't do anything, I swear. Have your coffee.”

She hesitated but finally reached for it, and before she knew it she was in his lap, landing with a squeal, trying to avoid spilling the coffee, butalsotrying to keep covered. He took the cup from her hand and set it on the table next to the chair.

“I need a good morning kiss,” he murmured, his face just inches from hers.

She raised her lips to his and moved her hand to his cheek. The kiss quickly escalated, and she was vaguely aware of the towel slipping slightly. He moved his lips to her neck, and she felt as well as heard his deep breath.

“You smell so good.”

His voice vibrated against her skin, raising gooseflesh, and she ran one hand through his hair, clutching the towel with the other. His lips moved lower, down her neck to her collarbone, tracing it from one shoulder to the other, pausing in the hollow at the base of her throat to trace it with his tongue. He kissed along the top of the towel, then lifted his head to look her in the eyes.

He slowly moved a hand along the opening of the towel and then under it, watching her face as he stroked her breast, slowly caressing, gliding his thumb over the taut peak. She closed her eyes, awash in sensation. One look, one touch. That’s all it takes.

“You're so soft, so perfect,” he whispered.

When she felt him tug lightly at the top of the towel, she stiffened, and he stopped.

“I just want to look at you and kiss you. That’s all.”

She swallowed nervously and closed her eyes as her heart galloped at a breakneck pace. Shewantedhim to kiss her, wanted to feel his warm mouth on her…

“Can I kiss you, Elizabeth?” he asked, his voice husky.

Despite her hesitation, she found herself nodding, never breaking his gaze.

He gave her the sweetest smile, and his mouth met hers as he ran a hand through her wet hair. She felt the top of the towel opening, revealing one breast, and his lips traced a path down her neck to her collarbone and lower still, until she felt his tongue gently trace her nipple. He drew her into his mouth, and her breath caught as a spectacular heat ignited low in her belly. She ran her hands through his hair, holding his head, and when he increased the pressure of his mouth and grazed her with his teeth, she thought she would burst into flames.

Gradually his mouth slowed, and once again he drew his tongue softly across the tip of her breast before placing a soft kiss there. He righted the towel, covering her up, and lifted his eyes to hers. For a moment they only stared at each other, and she saw her own desire reflected in his gaze.

“Good morning,” he finally said, his voice rough.

“Mm. Good morning,” she answered languidly.

He hugged her and kissed her forehead, and they sat like that for a few more minutes, neither compelled to move. Finally, he cleared his throat.

“You’ll need to put some clothes on if we're going for a walk. While I think you look stunning in your towel, I don't think it's appropriate for the bike path.”

She lifted her head and smiled, still feeling the haze of desire. “You're probably right. Make yourself comfortable. I'll be ready in a flash.”

She stood up, adjusted her towel, grabbed her coffee, and walked into the house on very wobbly legs.

It was a beautiful morning, and the bike path was crowded. They walked down to the salt marsh that Elizabeth claimed as one of her favorite spots, and Will understood why when his eyes lit on the expanse of reeds and flowing inlets, stretching endlessly under blue skies to the beach and then the ocean beyond. She’d brought along her camera and was able to get pictures of an osprey flying overhead with a flailing fish in its talons, and red-winged blackbirds as they darted among the reeds. Eventually they tired of the crowds and decided the beach was a better plan.

They spent the afternoon lying in the sun and playing in the surf. Will took great delight in the privacy of the beach in front of her house; they were basically alone and he took full advantage, kissing her often and touching her sun-warmed, coconut-scented skin.

Healsotook delight in picking her up and tossing her into the water. She tried to dunk him by climbing onto his back, but it was like a housecat trying to take down a grizzly, and he only laughed as he tossed her into the waves once again.

“Ever skinny-dip out here?” he asked.

She smiled as she floated on her back. “Of course, many times.”

His eyebrows rose. “Really?”

She righted herself and wrapped her arms around his shoulders. “Only at night. It’s nice to have the water lapping against your bare skin...” She kissed his jaw then lightly nipped his earlobe. “Quite refreshing.”
