“Me too. But I wasn't in that much of a state to begin with. It’s just that sometimes, the enormity of what's ahead of me hits home. I have a lot of confidence in my abilities, but sometimes it wavers.”

“It happens to everyone.”

“Including you.”

“Yes, including me. And on that note…”

“Yes, on that note...” He hesitated. “On that note, I might be here an extra day or two.”

“How come?”

“Richard found some property in LA that might be suitable for us. He wants me to check it out.”

“Oh. Well, it makes sense to do it while you're already out there, I suppose.”

“I'm going to try to make it home by Saturday night, but if I have to, I'll take a red eye so I can be home for the Fourth. I don't want to miss watching the fireworks with you.”

“I don't want you to miss that either. Just finish your work, okay? That should be your priority. And what are you doing tonight?”

“Staying in. It's just me and Netflix.”

“Mm, sounds perfect. Do you want me to call you in the morning?”

“Of course.”

“Okay. I'll talk to you then. Good night, Will.”

“Good night, Elizabeth. Sweet dreams.”
