After the last few days, I could use some alcohol.

“We don’t have any labels left.” Rachel dabbed at the corners of her eyes. They were swimming in tears, but she was making a valiant effort not to let them fall.

“Easy peasy. We’ll just use aunt Laverne’s sticker machine. She has some of that fancy waterproof paper. I saw it when I was in the mail room.” Not sure how I remembered anything other than the fact that more boxes were in there from my secret admirer, but I’d noticed a lot of office supplies.

“Yeah?” Rachel sniffed. “I didn’t know she had that.”

“Aunt Laverne has everything. Besides, she uses the sticker machine for the bakery. Not exactly your domain.”

“How do you know that?”

I shrugged. “I annoy everyone by asking questions.”

She rushed me and hugged me tight. “I’ll never be annoyed by your questions ever again.”

I patted her back. “We’ll fix it,” I said it to my sister, but I was staring at Ransom while I said it.

I didn’t believe that this was a random break-in for one second.

“Are you sure you don’t mind? I have to go meet with the florist and make sure we have all the flowers we need.”

“Nope. You and Clay can do that. Ransom and I will finish in here.”

Helplessly, Rach dabbed at the corners of her eyes with the back of her hands as she looked around.

I wasn’t used to seeing my sister overwhelmed. She’d always been a type-A-plus-plus kind of person and super in control.

She blew out a slow breath and shook her hair back over her shoulders. “There’s a diagram in my book. Let me get it for you.”

Of course she had a diagram. That sounded more like my sister.

Clay raked his fingers through his hair. “Thanks, Wil. I can probably have someone at the gift shop help out. It’s a slow time of year.”

“We can handle it. If I need help, I’ll SOS Taylor.”

“Are you sure?”

“Definitely.” I peered around Clay. “Right?”

Ransom just gave me an arched brow as he lifted another urn and brought it to the head table.

“He agrees.”

Clay folded his arms. “You guys are…”

“We’re helping our favorite people to have the best wedding ever.” Quickly, I went onto my toes and kissed his scruffy cheek. “We’ll make sure it’s perfect.”

“It’s a small wedding, but it’s still a dozen cases. We can make it a sticker party. Again.”

I laughed at his deadpan voice. “I’m trying to picture you putting them on straight enough to suit Rach.”

“Oh, I’m a pro—now.”

“I heard that,” Rachel called from near the doors.

“Love you,” Clay called back.

He smiled down at me. “She keeps me humble.” He lowered his voice. “She wanted to be hands-on for this wedding. She’s been doing really great even though this is the biggest thing she’s done since…well, since.”
