CHAPTER FOURTEEN

AMBER

I worried about the party all day, and for no reason. It was fun.

Noah’s family seems wonderful, and they couldn’t be nicer. The brothers are charming and witty and do their very best to aggravate their older brother.

About halfway through the party—after Noah gives a birthday toast to his mother—he asks if I’m ready to leave.

“Yeah, sure.” I was hoping he would ask. After dancing a few slow songs, I’m craving being alone with him.

“Let’s gather our things and say our goodbyes, shall we?”

I thank his mother again for allowing me to come, and she gives me a great big hug. Then she kisses Noah on the cheek and wipes the lipstick with her thumb.

“Bye, Mom.”

He gently takes my arm, and we head for the exit.

Rob cuts us off at the doorway. “Where to in such a hurry?”

Noah rubs his forehead. His brothers’ attempts at making him jealous are finally hitting home.

“Amber,” Blake says, sidling in from nowhere. “We’re thinking about hitting a new club on the other side of town. Care to join us?”

“I don’t think so, guys.” Noah grasps my hand and leads me off.

“Oh, come on,” I hear Rob say, and then Blake adds: “You have our number.”

* * *

The car is waiting when we step out of the hotel.

We settle into the back seat, and Noah pulls me onto his lap and nuzzles my neck. “Do you want to come to my place?” He licks my shoulder.

“Yes,” I sputter.

The kisses are shooting to my center. My panties are dampening. His cock is hard and feels exciting underneath me.

He inches a hand up my leg and nears the top of my thigh. I want him to touch me where no one ever has before. To go where no one has ever been. But it isn’t to be because the car stops.

“Do we have to get out?” I ask.

“Afraid so.”

The driver opens the door, and Noah helps me from the car. We’re in an underground parking garage.

“Is this the only way in?”

“No. Just a different way.”

“Oh,” I say, and we walk.

My shoes clack on the pavement and bounce off concrete walls. We reach the elevator, and Noah punches in a code. The door hisses open, and he ushers me inside. Pushes a floor number, and the elevator door seals. He draws me to him and kisses me, softly at first, then more firmly. Backs me against the wall and bears down on me. My heart is pounding.Pounding.

The elevator dings, and like a whistle signaling a timeout, Noah pulls away. “Here we are.”

Huh?
