“Actually, yeah I have. One time my ex took me to a party where they ordered the pay-per-view. Are you going to try and fight in one of those?”

“I’d love to, but that’s a long shot. First, I have to compete locally and then see how I do.”

“When’s your first fight?”

“Hopefully, sometime in the next few months. Unfortunately, there aren’t many women in the sport, period, let alone in Ohio. Until then, I will just keep on training.”

“Did you take karate or anything like that growing up?” Cara asked.

“No, I actually was a runner, which helps with the conditioning aspect of the sport. I didn’t get into it until I was in my early twenties.”

“It probably comes in handy in your job, too. I know that I wouldn’t want to mess with you!” Cara laughed.

“Well, you won’t have to worry about that,” Grace replied with a laugh. This was the most that any of her clients had ever talked to her. Most of them would barely even acknowledge her existence, and to Grace, this was a welcome change.

A few minutes of comfortable silence passed before Grace maneuvered her SUV into the valet line at Lola. When the valet sprinted over Grace waived him off as she spoke to dispatch via her earpiece.

“Alpha, this is Charlie. Do you copy? Over… Affirmative… Over…” Grace said as the valet, puzzled at first, realized the situation. Lola had its fair share of high profile customers, along with their entourages and security details.

Grace opened the door for Cara and told her to call her when she was ready to be picked up as she handed over her business card.

“I’ll be parked right over there if you need me. Have a great time,” Grace said as she closed Cara’s door.

“Can I get you something to eat?” Cara yelled back as she entered the restaurant, forgetting for a moment that Grace was there for business, not pleasure.

“No thanks, but I appreciate the offer,” Grace said with a smile as she climbed into her vehicle.
