“Any news, T?” Cooper Madison asked his agent, Todd “T-Squared” Taylor over the phone, as he stood outside on his balcony at the Westcott Hotel. In just a few short hours, Coop would find out if he had cleared waivers and would officially become a Cleveland Indian, at least on paper.

“Looks like it’s going to go through. The few other teams that might’ve claimed you already contacted me and I told them that you wouldn’t ever suit up for them if they did,” Todd replied.

“Wow, who’d of thunk it?”

“Not this guy, that’s for sure. To be honest, I always thought you’d eventually go back to the Cubs. When it becomes official, there will obviously be press releases and statements will be needed. What do you want me to say?”

“No comment…” Coop replied, only half-jokingly.

“Very funny…”

“That I am extremely grateful to the entire Chicago Cubs organization, the players, the coaches, and the fans,” Coop replied.

“Wow, you sound like maybe you should come work for me as a PR writer,” Todd laughed.

“I could never work for such an abusive boss…”

“What about in regards to the Indians? What do you want me to say to the press?”

“Tell them that while I still do not have any intentions of playing baseball this season, if ever, that I am happy to be part of such a great organization that is definitely on the rise.”

“Who are you?” Todd joked.

“Good question…”

“Okay, now that we have the media statements out of the way, what do I tell the Tribe’s front office?”

“That I don’t know...”

“Well, you’re going to have to meet with them regardless to sign the paperwork, so why don’t I tell them that you look forward to meeting with them and seeing what they have to say?”

“I suppose…”

“Good, stay by your phone in case something changes.”

“Will do.”

“Peace…”

Coop ended the call on his cell phone and went back to his apartment where Cara was lying on the couch.

“Everything okay?” she asked.

“It is now,” Coop replied with a grin.

“What did Todd want?”

Coop sighed and sat down next to where Cara’s feet rested on the couch. He placed his right hand on her ankle and sighed before explaining everything that had been brewing in regards to a possible trade to the Indians.

“Are you serious? The Tribe?” Cara said, sitting up, clearly excited at the news.

“Does that make you happy?” Coop asked, definitely caught off guard by her joyful reaction.

“I don’t know if happy is the right word. I guess I just figured that sooner or later you’d probably return to baseball, and if you did that it would be awesome if it was in Cleveland.”

“I see… does that mean you’d actually go to a baseball game and watch me play? I know you said you weren’t a big baseball fan,” Coop chided.
