It was one of those moments where only the participants would ever find that much humor in it, but neither of them seemed to care as they laughed hysterically.

Once the laughter wore off a bit, they each tried to find the right words to say next.

“I… umm… have to get back to work,” Cara said, wiping tears of laughter from her eyes. “Thank you for the generous bribe… err tip… I already forgot that you wiped out into your front door…”

“See… it worked!” Cooper replied, playing along. “Please let me walk you to the door… it can be dangerous there…”

“And they say chivalry is dead…” Cara replied, chuckling.

“Not where I’m from ma’am…” Coop responded, emphasizing his southern accent for effect.

“Oh crap! I almost forgot to give you your VIP card!” Cara said as she produced the gold-embossed business card and handed it to Coop. “My boss wanted you to have this… he is a big fan.”

“Oh… uh… thanks,” Coop said, the realization that she obviously knew who he was sinking in.

Sensing this, Cara tried to lighten things up, “Listen, your secret is safe with me. I won’t tell anyone that a half-naked Cooper Madison slipped and fell today…”

“It sounds so much worse when you describe it,” Coop laughed. He appreciated the fact that she knew what he was thinking.

“It’s all good… unless CMZ offers me more than your generous tip…” Cara said playfully, referring to the celebrity gossip website as she slowly exited the door.

“I’ll match whatever they offer!” Coop replied, feigning anxiety.

“I’ll hold you to that!” Cara played along.

“Wait… between all my athletic exploits I never got your name.”

“Oh… I’m sorry… It’s Cara… Cara Knox…”

“Well, Miss Cara Knox, it has been my pleasure to make your acquaintance,” Coop said with his best southern boy charm.

“Well thank you, Mr. Cooper Madison,” Cara replied in her best “Gone with the Wind” accent.

As they said goodbye, Cooper Madison watched his new favorite delivery girl walk towards the elevator and press the call button. It had been a long time since he had let his guard down, let alone with a young lady, and as the elevator doors began to open she turned and smiled at him. As he smiled and gave a wave, he slowly closed the door and returned to the sanctity of his apartment.
