His eyes widen and jaw tightens when he finally understands, and he’s running toward the bathroom before I can see if he’s truly mad. I hear the shower turn on and follow him.

When I enter, he’s glaring at the garbage can and holding his dick with both hands. “Fucking mint toothpaste.”

I pat his shoulder. “We’ll have to burn them all in protest.”

“Don’t you fucking placate me. I’m going to spank your ass for that.”

My face must give away the tightening of my insides, because Owen leans in until his mouth is just over my ear. “Or maybe I’ll withhold your spankings.”

He picks me up and carries me into the shower, then sits me in the corner against the smooth white tile. “You only get to watch.”

Owen reaches for the body wash, and my shoulders are still shaking from laughter. “I really am sorry. I didn’t think the toothpaste would burn.”

Lesson learned. It was more important to rinse fully than be quiet.

His lips slowly lift. “Then, I think you should get over here and kiss things all better.”

With a smirk of my own, I step away from the corner and under the spray of the shower. “I thought I was only allowed to watch.”

“I changed my mind.” Owen’s hands grip my neck, then his fingers work their way into my hair.

His mouth crashes against mine, and I don’t hesitate to open for him. I know this morning after is too much too soon. I also know staying with him isn’t what I should be doing, but damn it, I don’t want to stop whatever is happening.

Instead of putting an end to this chaos, I reach down and cup his balls, fully intending to “kiss things all better” just as soon as Owen is done tongue-fucking my mouth and making my toes curl.

Later that day,I find myself at the beach, enjoying the heat from the sunshine pouring out of the clear blue sky. I spent the morning—after properly rinsing my mouth, then blowing Owen in the shower—getting my things from Rosa before going for a massage.

With my libido sated and the rest of my body relaxed, my aim is for the water and UV rays to calm my mind. Surprisingly, I’m not as frantic as I thought I might be about Owen.

We haven’t talked about what we’re doing now that he’s not only my fake fiancé, but my hotel roommate. A part of me doesn’t want to have that conversation, because it’s easier to pretend none of this is happening in real life and that last night was a one off.

If I accept that I’m going to screw Owen for the rest of the week, then I might lose whatever cool I’ve been able to keep.

Maybe it’s knowing I have no clue where he’s from and that this is short-lived that’s helped me not regret last night or this morning. Or maybe it’s me being dumb and allowing another man into my life only days after having my heart stomped on by douchebag Gavin.

Either way, I’m going to choose not to think too hard about things for the time being. My two closest friends seem very pleased with that. They’ve been texting me non-stop while they’re at work, but I’m not putting anything in writing for them to screenshot and remind me of later. Especially Kenzie. I love her, but she can be pure evil some days.

“Can I get you another Sex on the Beach, miss?” my cabana boy asks.

I grin. He’s been calling me “miss” since I first sat down. “I think I’m good, Sam.”

His light-brown eyes and cocoa skin shimmer under the sunlight behind him. “Please, let me know if you change your mind. I’ll let you get back to relaxing.”

The Vistas must have the best headhunters in the business, because I’ve never been somewhere that had employees so eager to please, but I’m not complaining. Thanks to their helpfulness, this trip has been much easier to handle.

My phone rings, and it’s a video call from Kenzie and Piper. I answer and grin at their welcome faces, assuming they’re both on lunch.

“You lucky bitch,” Kenzie says before I even have the chance to say hello.

“Oh, yeah. She listened to us alright,” Piper adds.

“How the hell do either of you know anything?” I ask.

They’re both smiling like they’re the ones who got laid.

“Dude. You have the ‘I’ve just been fucked within an inch of my life’ grin on your face, and I’m jealous as hell,” Kenzie answers, popping a chip from her lunch into her mouth.
