“Shut up and kiss me, will you?” Sylvie whispered.

“Do you ever stop being so bossy?” Lauren’s lips grazed against Sylvie’s mouth as she spoke softly against her.

Sylvie smirked. “If you want docile look somewhere else, Machado.”

With a laugh, Lauren closed the minuscule gap and kissed her.

The taste of Lauren’s lips was so sweet. The shape of them intoxicating. Sylvie pulled her in closer, wishing she could feel every part of her.

When Lauren released her lips, she stayed close. Her forehead pressed against Sylvie’s.

“What are you doing later?” Lauren asked, her fingertips running along the curve of Sylvie’s neckline.

“Same thing you are.” She looked up into Lauren’s dark eyes, burning with the obvious desire to do more than kiss. “Working.”

Lauren kissed her cheek. “What about tomorrow?”

Sylvie’s eyes slipped closed as Lauren lips slid down her jaw. Everywhere Lauren touched her produced a cluster of tingling skin. Sylvie tangled her fingers in Lauren’s hair, gripping her neck and pulling her closer. She needed to feel more of Lauren’s kiss. Her lips. Her teeth.

“I have to go to lunch at my parents’ house,” Sylvie explained with a husky groan. “A Sunday family tradition that can’t be missed.”

Indulging her, Lauren bit into the sensitive point at the base of Sylvie’s neck. She whispered a curse as she made a fist in Lauren’s hair.

Understanding that she needed to stop before leaving a mark Sylvie would have to explain over roast pork and black beans, Lauren pulled back.

“I’ll be at my parents’ place too. Do you want to meet up after?”

Sylvie leaned back to get a look at Lauren’s face. “Meet up? What are we sixteen?”

Lauren chuckled. “You’re so intense.” She smirked. “I love it.”

The sound of the l word on Lauren’s lips sent Sylvie’s heart into a breakneck gallop.

“So how does a Sunday afternoon date sound?” Lauren asked after a beat.

There were so few people that worked the sort of hours they did, seven days a week. Because Lauren lived it herself, she didn’t bemoan not going out for dinner.

“Tomorrow afternoon then,” Sylvie agreed before pulling Lauren down for another kiss.
