“Beau, really? How many dates have you taken to this party over the years?”

“None,” I answered honestly, just as our names were being announced.

We walked through the red curtain, onto the red carpet. Flash after flash went off, but Gigi wasn’t finished with our conversation.

“You’ve never taken a date here?” she said, staring up at me with a small smile on her face.

“No, is that so hard to believe?” I asked, trying to understand why that surprised her.

“You couldn’t find a date?”

That cracked me right the hell up. “Yes, Geneviève, that’s correct. I couldn’t find a date.” I laughed, then without thinking, I moved my arms around her. “That’s why they’re taking so many pictures. They’re all amazed I could find someone to go with.”

“Happy I could help,” she quipped, sliding her hands around the back of my neck.

I chuckled even harder. “You’re a real lifesaver,” I said, then dipped her back. “Show off those long, sexy legs of yours, G.” Then I kissed the smile right off her face.

Never had a morebeautiful woman existed. I was definitely sure of that. Watching Gigi laugh and socialize was its own kind of supreme torture.

My balls had been aching since this morning. Both times I was in the shower, taking care of myself had more than crossed my mind. Something held me back, though.

I remembered gliding my cock through her wetness—almost getting in there—until Mom had started hollering. Damn, I’d been so close.

Supper was over and the dance floor had opened a half hour ago. I needed to tear G away from my family and friends, dance a few songs, then whisk her upstairs to the hotel room I’d booked.

No chance of getting cockblocked up there.

“Looks like she’s having more fun than you are,” Lucien said, slapping me on the back. “You going to get in there soon or what?”

“Yeah, just letting her have some time with Mom and her friends.”

“Not what I meant, and you know it. Close that deal.”

I turned my head and spoke in a low voice, “Would have closed it this morning if Mom hadn’t started screaming for us to wake up.”

His eyes widened almost as much as his mouth. “No!”

I nodded and pursed my lips together. So damn close. “Tried again before Élise nearly knocked my door down.”

Lucien laughed so hard, he doubled over, hooting. “Oh no! My poor little brother keeps getting thwarted at every turn.”

“Not funny, man.”

“That’s hilarious, Beau. Admit it. You can’t get laid? That has never been a problem for you in the past.”

“Never cared as much as I do now.”

“Go grab her. She’s fuckin’ gorgeous. Don’t know what she sees in a schmuck like you, but there’s no accounting for taste.”

I shook my head and laughed. “Tell me about it.”

After he walked away, I made my way to where Gigi was. She stood in a group of my mom’s friends and a couple of my aunts. “Do you ladies mind? I’d like to dance with my date,” I said, dragging my fingers down her arm until I got to her hand. Wrapping my hand around hers, I pulled her away.

“Bring her right back, Beau,” one of them said and the other laughed. I’d bet they probably knew there was little chance I would let Gigi out of my sight.

When we got to the dance floor, I breathed a sigh of relief. One hand on her waist, I started moving us around. Her hand found my shoulder, then lazily crept up behind my head, playing with my hair.

“You clean up well, Moreau,” she said, her eyes sparkling nearly as much as her dress.
