But she didn’t have to know that.

“Fuck, that hurt,” I said, greatly exaggerating my small fall into the tub.

“Crap, crap, crap,” she said, looking so goddamn cute the more flustered she got. “Here, let me help you.” Lexi threw the headband onto the floor. Then she offered her hands and braced herself against the side of the tub.

Christ, I tried my best not to laugh. If she thought for a second that she had one single solitary hope of lifting me up, I would die laughing.

Being the opportunist I was, I played it up. “Hold on tight,” I said and locked my hands securely onto hers. She was strong. Really strong. Still, she was no match for my strength.

I pulled harder until she landed on top of me. “Oof,” she grunted, and it was then I started laughing.

It was also then that she clued into the fact that I wasn’t hurt.

Her face was right in mine—our lips nearly touching. “Why are you such a jerk?”

That only made me laugh harder, and it only made Lexi more pissed off.

The only problem—for her, not for me—was the more she struggled, the more stuck she became.

Which was so not a problem for me.

Quite the opposite.

Having Lexi’s jerking, moving body on top of mine was a very, very good thing.

Finally, with much effort—on her part she’d ended up straddling me in the bathtub.

Which was just fine by me.

Her flustered, pink-cheeked face glowered at me. “Thanks for all your help.” She shoved my chest.

I smirked and let my hands slide up her sides, then to her back. “You were doing fantastic all on your own—like you always do when you’re on top.”

Her jaw dropped open, but I swear I saw her eyes flare at my words.

“You are unbelievable.”

“I know, Lex. You’ve said that many, many times before.”

She shoved me again. “God, you’re impossible.” Then, she stood up with one foot on either side of me. The bathtub itself wasn’t the biggest. Add me in—and even sideways, there was not a lot of room left for her to maneuver around in.

Before she could turn around, the V between her legs came dangerously close to my face—which again, I was more than okay with.

But, she was not.

“Oh, shitballs,” she mumbled and frowned down at me. There was no other way for her to turn around, though.

I grabbed onto her hips, steadying her movements so she didn’t fall.

She sighed deeply. “I asked you to get your hands off me.”

I chuckled and gazed up. “I’m making sure you don’t fall.”

“Trey, let go.” Her voice was stern and no nonsense.

So was mine. “I’ll let go when you’re out and safe.”

“No, now.”
