My eyes are drifting closed, but I'm aware enough to see him make the decision. He nods, and takes off his shoes and letting them fall to the floor.

I shuffle over in the bed to make room for me, and he actually obliges, lying down next to me and wrapping his arms around me.

Remus kisses the back of my head, and I sigh, far more content than I ever imagined.

I'm home. I'm at peace. For now at least.

Tomorrow, we'll have to go to war.
