“That Wendy girl’s friend,” I say, finishing off my water.

He laughs shaking his head. “Oh shit. Those two are fucking nuts. Didn’t Tenn tell you about it?” he asks.

“No,” I mumble, forcing a smile.

“It started great, but the only way they wanted the date to continue was if Tenn and I made out,” he says, laughing. “When we refused, they started making out, which was hot as fuck.” I roll my eyes, kind of wishing I was drunk right now. “So when they break apart, Wendy tried getting Tenn to rub my cock. It was over. We got up and fucking left.” Shaking his head with a smile, he tosses back his beer.

What the fuck did I just listen to? “That’s a story I could have went without hearing.”

“That’s a date I could have went without ever fucking going on,” he says, lifting his eyebrows. “So, who the hell are you here with?”

“Holly,” I say, nodding my head to the dance floor.

He wraps his arm around me, smiling down at me. “Why aren’t you out there shaking this ass?” he asks, moving his hand down to my ass.

“You touch her ass and I will break your arm,” Tenn growls.

Scott backs up holding his arms out in surrender. “Hey, I was just talking to her. Relax, Tenn.”

I can’t contain my laugh, and they both look at me. “I’m sorry, but seriously, Tenn, I do kind of feel like you are stalking me. Every time someone seems to say something or do something, you pop out of thin air. What are you a fucking super hero or some shit?”

“I’m just always in the right place at the right time.” He flashes me a wink. He turns to Scott and crosses his arms. “Go find another ass to grab.”

“Dude, chill out. I was just talking to her. Christ, you act like she’s your girlfriend.”

It’s kind of an awkward moment to be honest. Scott’s right, Tenn does seem to act that way sometimes. Although I have to believe it’s because he is just trying to protect me. He’s always been that way with me, but the way Scott said it…I don’t know, it felt different.

“Good,” Tenn says and walks away.

Good? What the hell does that mean? Good he made his point, good people know he acts that way, good I like interrupting shit? Christ, he’s so damn confusing.

Scott walks away with Tenn, and I decide I’ve had enough. I’m re

ady to get the hell out of here, and I already know getting Holly out the door is going to be a chore.

“Tenn, hurry up I need to wipe down the bathroom before they get here,” I yell through the door.

I’ve got a turkey breast roasting and all the fixings going. It smells awesome. The house is clean, sparkling really. There is nothing they can point out or pick on us for. Well, unless Tenn doesn’t get his ass out of the bathroom. I even hid all my lingerie and vibrators. I’m not dealing with that shit today.

As Tenn comes out of the bathroom, I rush in to make sure everything is picked up and wiped down. Of course it’s all steamy from his shower, but I can’t wait; our parents are going to be here any minute. That’s when I look down at myself. Shit, I’ve been so worried about cooking and cleaning I forgot to get myself ready. I clean up the bathroom in record speed and rush into my bedroom. Going into the closet, I pull out a green sundress and toss it on. Rushing over to the mirror, I brush my long red hair and toss in a few curls. Makeup applied and I’m done.

When I get into the living room, Tenn is sitting with his feet up watching TV. “Seriously? I’m busting my ass, and you are sitting here relaxing?” I smack his feet off the coffee table, and he laughs. “Come on, I’m trying to make sure there is nothing they can say. Go check the potatoes while I fix these cushions now.”

He grabs me around my waist and pulls me onto his lap. I’m on my back looking up at him, and his blue eyes are sparkling with play. “You need to relax. These are our parents, not people we are trying to impress. They like us already,” he says, grinning.

I don’t know what it is, but I can’t pull my gaze away from his. Our eyes are searching, for what, I have no idea. His eyes show something, but it’s a look I’ve only seen a handful of times. I’m still not sure what it is, but it’s doing things to me. Things that I shouldn’t be feeling laying in his arms. I should be pulling away, but his strong arms around me fells so good, so comfortable.

His breathing is getting a bit heavier, like my own. His hold on me gets a little tighter. His eyes search my entire face before locking back onto mine.

“Hello?”

I jump up so fast I almost fall over the coffee table.

“Hey, there’s my beautiful girl,” my mom says, grabbing me in for a hug. “Fix your dress, baby, it’s all messed up,” she whispers in my ear.

I feel my face burn with embarrassment, but adjust my dress when she lets go. I hug my dad then look over at Tenn. He has the faintest of smiles on his face, but his eyes now look a bit sad, regretful maybe.
