“I was in deep thought and didn’t expect it. I’m sorry,” I say, giving him my best pouty face.

“You’re lucky you’re so damn sexy,” he says, pressing his lips to mine.

I rub my hand on his six-pack. “My little elbow couldn’t possibly have hurt that bad. Unless you’re a pussy,” I say, laughing.

We pull up to the bustling seaside restaurant, and Tenn parks the truck. I see Holly’s car and Scott’s truck, and a small smile pulls at my lips. Maybe I’m not as nervous as I thought I’d be.

As we walk to the door, Tenn links his fingers with mine, and I lo

ok up at him. “You good?” he asks.

“Honestly, I thought I’d be nervous, but I’m not. You’re one hell of a prize, too,” I say causing us both to laugh as we enter the restaurant.

The hostess brings us to the table, and as soon as Holly looks up and sees us holding hands her eyes nearly bug out of her head. She jumps up and sprints to me.

“Did you forget to fucking tell me something?” she asks grabbing onto my shoulders.

I laugh and turn my head to look at Tenn before returning her gaze. “I didn’t forget to tell you, I just didn’t,” I say causing Tenn and I to both laugh.

Her hands land on her hips so fast as her foot begins to tap. “Regan, spill it.”

“Relax, warden, Tenn and I realized the other night that this is what we both want,” I say shrugging my shoulders.

Tenn leans his head close to both of us and grins. “Actually, I had to convince her,” he says before pressing a quick kiss to my lips.

“Wow, that’s amazing. I’m so happy for you guys,” she says with as much enthusiasm as a cheerleader at a chess match.

We sit down, and Scott nods his head toward Tenn with a smirk. “It’s about goddamn time.”

Tenn rests his hand on my thigh, giving it a light squeeze. “It was worth the wait, man.”

“I fucking hate you right now. If people actually turned green with envy, I’d look like the fucking grass,” Holly whispers in my ear.

Turning toward her, I wiggle my eyebrows. “Oh you should be, because damn.”

“Fucking slut,” she murmurs, looking down at the menu.

Ryan, Jennifer, and her boyfriend Philp, join us and we are all having a great time. Even though Jennifer has given me a few nasty looks when Tenn touches me, I won’t let it ruin my fun.

After we finish eating, we continue to laugh finishing off our drinks. It’s been relaxing and that’s just what I needed. I’m watching them all thinking about how it feels like life has changed so much for me, yet it’s the same.

“Before I get out of here I just wanted to say how happy I am for you and Tenn,” Holly says, holding up her drink.

“You’re full of shit,” I joke.

“Maybe a little, but I am glad you both realized what was right under your noses,” she says tossing back the rest of her drink.

“Make no mistake, I’ve always known. It took Regan time to catch up is all,” Tenn clarifies.

“I’m happy for you guys, too. Even though it just proves my point that you were fooling around with Tenn when you were with my brother,” Jennifer says in her sicken sweet voice.

Tenn tosses back his head laughing, and it’s that evil laugh. I reach over and rub my hand on his chest.

“Jennifer, believe me if we were fooling around, she would have never settled for your brother,” Tenn hisses.

Yikes. “Okay, knock it off. Tenn, relax, we both know the truth. Jennifer, if you keep bringing that up we aren’t going to make it as friends. Drop it. It’s as simple as I wasn’t into your brother.”
