I lift her up and kiss her as she laughs against my lips. When I put her back down, I tuck her hair behind her ears. “You can’t say a word to anyone. When we walk out of this room, you need to keep your mouth shut. If they question any of this, the plan will be ruined. I’ll do the talking and you just agree with me. When we leave here, I am going to drop you off at my place. You’ll stay there and will not open the door for anyone but me. When I pick you up, we’ll come back here. You come back to this room and I’ll tell them what I did, alright?”
She blows out a breath and nods. “Okay. But, how long will I be alone at your place? Can’t I just go with you?”
I grin as I grab her hand, running my thumb over her knuckles. “I will not put you in any further danger. I need to know you’re safe. I won’t be able to concentrate if you are there, baby girl. It will be a few hours. I need to get rid of his body.”
She closes her eyes, shaking her head. “Okay, I don’t really need the details,” she whispers.
I hold back a laugh and pick her up. She wraps her legs around me and I bite down on her neck. “Let’s relax before we go,” I say, tossing her on the bed.
I watch her strip for me and my heart expands as my dick hardens. I’ve got this baby girl. After tonight we will be safe.
Chapter 13
Riley

After reminding Gillian again to let me handle everything, we walk out to face everyone. Brooks is the first one to his feet and I want to punch him in the mouth the second he starts talking.
“You took long enough,” he says.
I shrug and move closer to him. Porter and Enzo rush over, but I don’t touch him. I narrow my eyes and push my hands into my pockets. “Trying to decide if I want to put the love of my life in more danger, yeah that took a little longer than I’d like,” I hiss.
“We’ll protect her,” he says, shaking his head.
“Oh, you will? Well shit, thank fuck. I didn’t know you had the ability to keep her from being arrested for hacking into federal websites. I feel so much better now,” I say, laughing without humor.
“Chill the fuck out,” Porter hisses in my ear.
I step back and grab Gillian’s hand. “We have to go. We’ll be back.”
“So, you decided to do it?” Enzo asks.
I glance at him and grin. “Do I have a choice?”
“We can follow,” Zane suggests.
“Absolutely not!” I yell. “The last thing I need is for him to see anyone and kill us both right there. I’ll fucking handle this like I have been.”
“We’ll figure it out,” Porter whispers, slapping my back.
I nod as I start to walk away with Gillian. “I’m taking the van so Gillian has somewhere to sit when she’s breaking the law.”
I grab the keys off the table Finn is sitting at and don’t bother looking back. When we get outside, Gillian takes a deep breath. I glance over at her, lifting an eyebrow.
She lifts her shoulders as she smiles. “I haven’t been outside in a while. It’s nice to breathe fresh air.”
I open the door to the van for her and kiss her cheek. “It’s almost over, baby girl.”
She climbs in and forces a smile. I know she’s nervous, but this is going to work. It will all be over soon and we can move on. We’ll have a fresh start. No agent asshat, no secrets about h
ow Rachel died. We deserve this.
I climb into the van and back out of the spot. I reach over and link my fingers with hers. “I’m gonna drop you off at my place. Remember don’t open the door for anyone but me. I don’t care if it’s fucking Brooks, keep it locked. When I come get you, we’ll go back to Souls and I’ll tell them everything. They can be pissed all they want, but it will be over.”
She looks out the side window and nods. “I know,” she whispers.
