“Yeah, he almost makes me wanna look for a girl,” Everett says. We all look at him and he laughs. “I said almost.”

Remi shakes his head and raises his beer. “Happy Birthday, Catherine.”

Jackson pulls the CD from behind his back and hands it to her. She looks around as her eyebrows dip. “What’s this?”

“Jackson got in touch with us and asked if we’d record a song for you. He put most of the lyrics together, I just sang them,” Kegan says.

Tears spring to her eyes as her eyes bounce around to each of the guys, finally landing on Jackson. “You wrote me a song?”

“I wrote down some words, these guys turned them into a song,” he corrects.

A tear rolls down her cheek as she wraps her arms around him. He hold her tightly to him, whispering in her ear. I glance up at Kegan and notice he’s watching me.

“That’s incredibly sweet, isn’t it?” I ask.

He presses his lips to mine. “You want a song, angel?”

I laugh, shaking my head. “No.”

I don’t know why I say no, because who the hell wouldn’t want a song written for them. I’m not sure if its embarrassment telling him I’d love that or if it’s fear that people will realize we’re together. He doesn’t say anything, just tightens his hold on me. I smile thinking, he’ll do what he wants anyway.

Jackson and Catherine finally pull apart. She has a huge smile on her face as she thanks them all. She looks up at Jackson and without saying a word they seem to have a silent conversation. I’m not sure if it’s her thanking him or making a promise for what’s to come later. Either way, it’s intriguing watching it happen.

“I’m not normally speechless, but right now I am. Having a song that no one else has is the most incredible thing I could ever imagine. Thank you, guys, so much. I’m blown away you’d take time out of your business schedule to do this for me,” she says.

“It was our pleasure,” Kegan says.

“You have any friends that could thank me properly?” Everett asks.

I continue to watch them all. I’m so lucky to be surrounded by all these amazing people. Catherine has truly become someone I consider a friend. Jackson has too for that matter. They fit in perfectly and I know this will not be the last we see of them. Maybe it won’t be for a while because Kegan and the guys don’t stay in one place long, but I know in my heart it will happen and I can’t wait until the next time.

Chapter Sixteen

Kegan

“You guys have been fucking amazing!” I yell. I laugh as a bra lands on stage and sign a few more autographs on my way off stage.

Lorelei jumps into my arms and I slam my mouth to hers. She laughs when I smack her ass and she slides down my body.

“Enjoy the show?” I ask, walking toward the door.

We have no meet and greet, so we are all heading straight for the bus. We decided to hit the local club tonight. It’s been a while since we’ve been out. The tour has taken up most of our time and when I’m not busy with that, I’m busy with Lorelei.

These last few weeks have been the best of my life. I didn’t realize before Lorelei that my heart wasn’t whole. It was missing something, a huge piece and she’s that piece. She makes me a better man. She makes me feel complete.

“I loved it. You still manage to take my breath away,” she says, bringing me back to the present.

I kiss the top of her head as we cross the parking lot.

“Kegan, you fucking killed it, brother,” Lane says, slapping my back.

I smile as we climb onto the bus. “We all killed it.”

“I’m showering first,” Lorelei says, running for the bathroom.

We all laugh as we grab a beer and sit down. I let the cold liquid run down my throat and lean back on the couch.
