Maddie smiles as she says, “Oh I have his attention, believe me.” Maddie has long blonde hair and blue eyes, your typical blonde beauty. She never has to try to get a guy, they seem just to show up on our door step.
These two girls are my absolute best friends. We met during orientation and hit it off. We all have our place in this friendship. After high school, I made a promise I would never become that weak girl again. I stand up for my girls and myself. I’m not a bitch, but I definitely will not let anyone bully me ever again. I’m usually just a happy girl, who is finally happy with her life. I love to laugh and make everyone laugh. Becca is shy. She only gets loud with Maddie and me. She doesn’t like to cause a scene and avoids it if at all possible. She is very organized and a neat freak. Maddie is the most out going out of the three of us. She loves the attention and will do pretty much anything to get it. She is also extremely smart. We all blend together so well.
“Alright, I need to get moving so I’m not late for class. You guys want to meet up for lunch today?” I say as I put my mug in the sink and get ready to leave for the day. They both agree that we will all meet up for lunch and I am out the door to my first class.
I am starving and so relieved that class is over in a few minutes. I haven’t even been paying attention because all I can think about is getting something to eat. The professor says class is over and I almost run out of the door.
“Hey, Kenz, wait up.” I hear someone yell. I turn to see my friend Joe coming toward me.
“Hey, Joe. What’s up?” I ask when he reaches me.
He pulls me in for a hug. When he lets go he says, “Nothing much. Where are you going in such a rush?”
“I have a lunch date with a burger.” I say smiling.
“Is it serious?” he says as we start to walk out the door.
“You’re such a dork, Joe. You have lunch now too?”
“No, I still have another class before I am done for the day.” He says.
We talk until we get to the point where he needs to go in order to make his next class. I start walking away, when Maddie comes over smiling at me.
“What are you so freaking happy about?” I ask.
She cocks her eyebrow and says, “That boy likes you, Kenz. Are you ever going to give him a chance?”
I shake my head at her. I like Joe, as a friend, but that’s all. I am not attracted to him.
“Maddie, you know he is just a friend, stop trying to push him on me. You make me feel like a bitch.” I say as we continue our walk to the burger place around the block.
“Alright, whatever. I’m only trying to help. You’re not still hung up on that prick are you? I thought you were over him!” she says.
She is talking about my ex Scott. We only went out for a few months, but I really did like him. He ended up being an asshole, so I ended things. I will not be treated like shit!
“No, Maddie, I assure you I am not hung up on him. Now, can we stop talking about all this, because I am fucking starving and you’re walking way to slow.”
We finally make it to the burger place and Becca is waiting outside for us. We have a great lunch with a lot of laughs. When we all finish up and head back to school, I find myself smiling because I adore how my life has changed.
“Young, hurry the fuck up if you want to make it on time.” I yell as I hit his bedroom door. We are supposed to be leaving to pick up our buddy Keith Dickson, we of course call him Dick, from the airport. He left a year ago to help out his family, but he’s coming back now. When he left, we didn’t know when or if he would be coming back. Young, Tyler Young is his name but we call him Young, and I got a small apartment when Dick left. Now that he’s coming back, we are going to have to find a bigger place. This apartment is hardly big enough for me and Young.
Young finally comes out of the bedroom.
“Damn, Young, what the fuck took so long? We are going to be late now!” I say stuffing my wallet into my pocket.
“We won’t be late, fucking relax. I had to finish my phone call.” He says while cocking his eyebrows at me.
“Are you fucking kidding me that you had to have phone sex right now? Can’t you think without your dick every once and a while?” I say. He is such a horny shit. He is always thinking with his dick, and it’s at times like this that it really pisses me off.
“I forgot you grew a vagina, you big pussy! Maybe if you jerked off every once and a while you wouldn’t be so uptight.” He shoots back at me.
Young and I have been friends since we started college. We were roommates and after I punched him in his mouth that first day, we have been friends. When I walked into my dorm room on that first day, he was whacking off. He turned around when I walked in and stuck his hand out for me to shake, with his dick still hanging out. That’s not why I hit him though, it was when my sister walked in the room, and he asked if she could finish him off. The rest of the day, we completely ignored each other. He finally apologized and we became friends over a twelve pack and Young’s porn collection.
We met Dick our second year in college. He was in one of my classes and after class; he asked if I could tell him where to get some decent food. We ended up going to lunch together and had been friends since. He’s a really decent guy. He loves his family, he doesn’t really talk about them, but he runs home whenever they need him. He had a serious girl for about a year, but when he had to leave to go home, she said she wouldn’t do the last distance thing. He was pretty fucked up over that, he really loved her. I think we are going to have a hell of a good time when he gets back. He never wanted to go out with us when he was dating her. Dick and I are a lot alike when it comes to women. We like to play the field, but we are always looking for the special someone.
Young and I are finally, on our way to the airport when he says, “Hey, I saw an apartment complex not far from ours that has an apartment for rent. We should check it out. Says it has three bedrooms, so that would work out good.”
“Alright, we will have to check it out, but it better not be like that one you suggested last week.” I say looking over at him before focusing back on the road.
