“Kenz, I wanted to wait until after dinner, but I can’t wait anymore.” I look up into his beautiful blue eyes and see how much I mean to him.
“What’s up?” I figure he wants to take me somewhere after dinner or that he wants to have sex. He grabs both of my hands and kisses each one before holding them over his heart.
He takes a deep breath, looks straight into my eyes and says, “Kenz, I love you.” I am completely taken back. I knew he had feeling for me, but I had no idea he loved me.
I can’t help the tears that escape, coupled with a huge smile. “Oh, Campbell. I love you too.” I do. I love him so much more then I knew it was possible to love someone. He pulls me to him and crashes his mouth to mine.
When we break apart to catch our breaths he says, “Forget dinn
er. We are going to my place. Now.” Not one to argue I smile and follow him across the hall.
I look up at the clock and realize I need to go give my tables their bills so I can get out of here. I do just that and am happy as hell that they are ready and leave quickly. I check that it is alright for me to leave, then clock out and head home to have a quick shower before going to the bar to hang out with my favorite people.
The six of us have been here about an hour. We are having a great time, as always. “So then, this bitch comes up to me and says that he was her boyfriend. I said, ‘Listen, chica, I assume if someone approaches me they are single. Maybe you should learn how to please your man.’” Maddie is telling us a story about her encounter with a girl at school. We all start laughing, except for Young. He slams his beer down on the table, hard enough to shake the whole thing and spill some of his beer. We all look over at him.
“Excuse me.” He gets up and heads for the bathroom. I look over at Campbell.
“I’ll be right back.” He whispers to me. Poor Young, I know he likes Maddie. She is just to blind to notice. I brought it up to her once and she laughed. She said just because we fuck occasionally, doesn’t mean feelings are involved. Dick excused himself after Campbell, so it’s just us girls.
“What the fuck was that all about?” Becca and I roll our eyes at her stupid ass.
“You’re kidding right? I already told you that Young has a thing for you. You’re sitting here talking about fucking a guy with a girlfriend. Obviously that is upsetting to him.” She grabs her drink and throws the whole thing back.
“Kenz, just because you found Mr. Fucking-Perfect doesn’t mean that everyone is looking to be with someone. I told you once before, we fuck, that’s it. Stop trying to guilt me into feeling something I don’t. This is the last fucking time I want to hear about it. You want to tie yourself down, good for you. I don’t. I’m young and I intend to play the field as much as possible. Now stop being a pushy bitch or I’m going to fucking leave.” She gets up and walks over to the bar.
“What the fuck is her problem? That was completely uncalled for!” I say to Becca.
“I have no idea. She’s been bitchy lately. I asked her the other day if she wanted to talk about anything and she told me that I was a nosey bitch.” Fucking Maddie. She can be such a bitch sometimes.
Campbell and the guys come back to the table. He pulls me close enough to wrap his arm around my shoulders.
“Is everything alright?”
He gives me that sexy grin, kisses my cheek and says, “Yes. He just needed to take a breather. He is better now. Where is Maddie?”
I roll my eyes. “She was a complete bitch to me, said some nasty shit, and went to refill her drink.”
He kisses me real quick. “Baby, I’m sorry she was a bitch to you. She and Young are so much alike, you just need to take everything she says with a grain of salt.” I know he’s right, but she still pissed me off.
After everyone has a nice buzz going on, the earlier situation is forgotten, so we are playing our favorite game. Truth or dare. Ever since I told Campbell that is how I came over that first night, we play all the time. Especially when we are at the bar.
“I dare you to go grab that chick and kiss her.” Young says to Dick. Dick gets up from the table we are all hysterical already. He walks over to the poor girl, kisses her and walks away smiling.
“Easy dare, asswipe. Who’s turn?”
“Mine, and I want dare.” I say. He thinks for a minute before he gives that mischievous smile.
“I dare you to kiss Maddie.” You have got to be fucking kidding me.
“Are you serious?” both Campbell and I say at the same time.
“Yep.” I look over at Maddie and we both laugh.
“Fine.”
Campbell grabs my hand, “Baby, you don’t have to do this. Just pick truth.” I kiss his cheek and say, “I’ve got this.”
I walk around the table to where Maddie is. I grab her hand to make her stand up. I lean forward and press my lips to hers. We don’t use any tongue but hold the kiss for a minute. I pull back and we both start laughing when we see all the guys with their mouths hanging open. Maddie and I high five, and I walk back to my seat.
