“Shut the fuck up, Ro. The driver can hear us.” She starts laughing and I roll my eyes. I look at the driver in the rearview mirror, and he has a smirk on his face. Fucking Rowan. She leans in close with her lips practically touching my ear.

“Did you guys have sex?” she whispers this time. I can’t help but laugh at how ridiculous she is. I turn to look at her, noticing her glassed-over eyes. My girl is feeling no pain at all. I don’t say anything, because the nosey ass cab driver is still looking in the mirror. I simply shake my head ‘no.’ I want to ask her about Roy the bartender, but I will wait until we are alone.

The rest of the ride, thankfully, is quiet. Ro has her head on my shoulder and I can tell she is starting to fall asleep. So much for talking when we get home. She’ll pass right out. We pull up in front of my apartment complex, so I nudge her to get her to wake up. She doesn’t move so I push on her shoulder forcing her to sit up. Her eyes are half-closed and she looks exhausted. “Rowan, come on, you just need to make it up to the apartment then you can fall asleep.” I get out and she practically crawls out behind me. I pay the cab driver and he has a creepy smirk on his face. Fucking perv. I grab onto Rowan’s arm and lead her up to my apartment.

Once we are inside, she falls onto the couch, passing right out. I hop into the shower, hoping to gain a few extra minutes in the morning before work. I get undressed, looking at myself in the mirror. I take notice to love bites that Cooper left behind. I run my finger along each one, loving how he marked me. It’s fucking hot, like he claimed a part of me. I finally pull myself away from looking and take a quick shower. Once I am done and in my PJs, I figure I should text Cooper since he asked me to let him know I’d gotten home.

Me: I’m home.

He responds almost immediately.

Cooper: Thank you. I was getting worried, that seemed to take a while.

I smile thinking of him being worried about me.

Me: I took a quick shower first, sorry. I figured it would give me a few extra minutes in the morning.

Cooper: Damn, that is like a tease.

I laugh out loud at his response.

Me: I also noticed you left me marked.

Cooper: Something to keep me in your thoughts.

If he only knew that he’s been in my thoughts since the concert.

Me: I really had a great time tonight, cowboy.

Cooper: Doll, you have no idea how amazing tonight was for me. I’d like to see you again.

I don’t even need to think about it. I honestly can’t wait to see him again.

Me: Definitely. I need to get to sleep. I have work at nine tomorrow morning or this morning.

Cooper: Alright, get some rest. Call me when you get home from work and we will figure something out. Night, doll.

Me: Sounds great. Night, cowboy.

I put my phone on the charger and turn onto my side. Once I close my eyes, I am met by piercing brown eyes and sexy ass tattoos. I drift to sleep with my panties starting to get wet.

The most annoying noise in the world is screaming in my ear. How the fuck is it seven thirty already? I slowly roll over trying to smack the shit out of my phone. I keep missing it, so the damn screaming alarm keeps going. I reach my hand over again and slam it down on the nightstand, which of course, why the fuck not, causes my phone to fall onto the floor. “Are you fucking serious?” I groggily lean over the side of the bed to grab my damn phone.

“Are you fucking for real? Turn that thing off. It woke me up in the living room!” I grab my phone and turn off the alarm. I can’t help but laugh. I look over at Rowan. She is standing in my doorway, hair a mess, makeup running. Plus, my dress that was already too short is pretty much up around her waist. She stalks over to my bed and falls back. “Why the hell is that thing so loud?” I laugh and climb out of bed and lean over her.

“That is so loud because I need to make sure I get my ass up and to work on time. Unlike you who gets to sleep your Sunday away, I need to go make people beautiful.” I wink and make my way to the bathroom to get ready.

Once I have dressed in my black pants, black scoop neck tank top, and my favorite pink Nike sneakers, I begin to straighten my hair. I have to admit that I love my hair. It is the perfect length, the middle of my back and as plain as brown hair is, I love it. I think it makes my blue eyes pop. I put the straightening iron down once I’m done and apply my makeup. I usually do just a quick mascara and lip gloss for work. After I am completely done, I check myself in the mirror and smile. Not bad. I check my cell phone and see I actually have time to have a cup of coffe

e before I leave. I go into the kitchen, start the coffee pot, and go to check on Rowan. I poke my head into my bedroom to find her still in the same position, sound asleep. I shake my head, heading back to make my coffee.

I get to work and make my way inside. “Morning, ladies.” Everyone is still dragging ass. Sundays are always tough, well actually, no harder than Saturdays. I go to the back room and put my purse away. Terry is back there making coffee. This woman never takes a day off. I don’t know how she works seven days a week running this salon, plus takes care of her family. She really is someone I look up to. “Morning, Terry.” She turns with a smile already in place.

“Good morning, Emma. How was the concert?” Just the mention of it brings a smile to my face and Cooper to my mind.

“It was great.” I throw my purse on the couch when I hear Terry start to laugh. I turn around with a confused look because I have no idea what she is laughing at. She is standing with her arms crossed looking at me and laughing. “What?”

“You met someone didn’t you?” What the hell? How could she know that? I walk over and sit down at the break table. I look up at her smiling face and smile back.
