In love with me? I stared into his sparkling eyes, my heart racing as a crash of thunder sounded in the distance. Energy crackled between us, sparking a deep desire in me like I’d never felt before.

With a wave of my hand, I returned us to his forest.

Strong arms encircled my waist, lifting me off the ground. He walked us back into the house, not missing a step. My hands found purchase in his thick dark hair as I deepened our kiss.

I was done being scared. Over the years, I’d battled all kinds of uncertainty alone, so why should this be any different? I would face my fears head on, and if that led me straight into heartbreak, so be it.

Roarke moaned against my lips, the vibration traveling along my bones as he guided us deeper into the cabin and straight to his bed.

“Are you sure about this?” Roarke stared into my eyes, his firing silver and sparking my desire to even greater heights.

“I am. I want you, Roarke. And all of this.” I tossed back my head, bringing my dream to life. The ceiling above us exploded, and it was once again night. With the sky our only backdrop, I pulled Roarke toward the bed and lay down upon it.

It was bold, but I welcomed him between my legs.

Supporting himself with a hand on either side of my head, Roarke trailed featherlight kisses down my neck until he reached the top of my breasts. “I won’t go any farther without your permission.”

I smiled up at him and winked, removing the top part of our clothing with just a thought.

Roarke glanced down, a sensual smile overtaking his lips before resuming their path along my skin.

I’d dreamed of this for so long, wondering what it would be like to make love with someone who loved me back.

Dropping an elbow, Roarke rolled us over, perching me on top of him. I sat up, unabashed, with my hands resting against his chest. He grabbed my hips, his fingers digging in as he slightly pushed up beneath me.

“Milly, I’m going to ask you again. Are you sure about this?”

I nodded. There was nothing left of my doubts and fears but charred remains, burned to ashes by my flaming desire. “Roarke,” I whispered his name as his hands glided across my skin.

His touch was slow and precise, stretching out every moment into a treasured memory. I’d imagined moments like this before, but never in a million years had I pictured this—the Weaver of dreams as my lover.

He rolled us over again, and I peered up through my dark lashes, the image of his broad shoulders and the shape of him hovering over me scorched into my being. Whether he was truly in love with me or not, I accepted the outcome because I could no longer deny that I was in love with him.

“Roarke.” My voice came out huskier than usual as I met his gaze. His eyes twinkled, and a slow grin curled his lips. God, I loved that smile.

“Milly,” he whispered my name on a ragged breath and dropped his head to my bare skin.

Silver sparks flared around us, casting us in a familiar glow. We were back in the heavens again—body, mind, and soul.

I closed my eyes and let go. Waves of passion radiated from our bodies, flowing into the cosmos and disrupting the stars.

“Breathe, Milly. Nothing bad can happen to us here.” Without words, he’d sensed my thoughts, and for once I was grateful.

I peered up into his eyes, my fingers playing in the wisps of his hair. “I’ve never been afraid to be alone before, but now I think you’ve ruined me.”

“I’m the one who is ruined,” he breathed out on a whisper, revealing his hidden truth. “For over a hundred years, I’ve fulfilled my duty, yet all I want to do now is drift through the universe, lost in your embrace.”

I tossed back my head, gone at his words, and offered myself to him. A wave of desire engulfed me as we became one, and like magic, everything else was forgotten. I pulled him down and drank in his kisses as though I’d been dying of thirst. Words fell away as our bodies sang, quivering with each thrust and wave of pleasure. Nearing release, tears formed in my eyes as the love I felt for Roarke finally broke free. Our bodies trembled, shaking the surrounding planets on their axes as we tumbled together back through the stars.
