“Yeah, she’s been surprising me a lot lately,” I mutter, and he walks over, patting me on the back.
“I’m gonna take off. If you need anything, call me.”
“Thanks, brother.” I walk him down the hall, and May comes to my side as he heads out the door. When we close it behind him, she turns to face me and shakes her head.
“So that’s it?” she asks and I tip my head to the side. “All of the drama that has been swirling around us the last few weeks is just done?”
“I doubt our lives are going to suddenly be drama free doll, you’ve met my family.”
“True.” She lets out a long breath as I wrap my arms around her.
“I love you.”
“I love you too.” Her face goes soft as I dip my chin and brush my mouth over hers feeling thankful as fuck. Before her I thought I had it all, I had no idea what I was missing out on. I had no idea that the best thing in my life would come from losing something I thought was so important.
