“Why?”

She shot him a beautiful smile. He almost got the impression she was laughing at him—the little brat. He’d always gotten so heated when she’d laugh at him before. She’d known it, too. “You’re the example, now, Daddy. Also…groceries. I suggest you do pizza for tonight. Or delivery from the diner. But you’ll need something for breakfast in the morning.”

“I’d be happy to run to the grocery store, Nick,” one of his nephews said behind him. “Get you some things to start.”

Nick just nodded.

“I still have your credit card,” Robin said. She pulled it from her purse and gave it to him. He just gave it to Martin instead.

“Stock me up.”

“She likes toast with grape jelly. She specifically told me that. Might want to stick to some comfort food for her. Hot dogs, macaroni and cheese, breakfast cereal,” Robin told Martin.

Martin smiled at her in return. “I’m Martin, by the way. Nick oldest and wisest nephew. Glad to see you again.”

“Of course, it’s been a long time. Last time I saw you, I was eighteen...”

“And taller than I was.”

“Definitely not the case now.” Robin gave him a beautiful smile. A smile that made Nick want to smack his nephew. “You’re Chandler’s brother, then.”

“Yes. I’m the best of the lot. Welcome back to Masterson.” Martin looked at Nova. “I suspect you’ve come back just in time…to save Nick’s ass. I think he’s going to need all the help he can get.”

Ha-ha. Nick hadn’t known the boy was such a comedian.
