“Sure. If Mother understands anything, it’s how Hollywood can turn on you. And if you’ve been my bodyguard without Mother feeling like you’re doing it to get close to her, then she might be receptive to meeting with you.”

As if Elsa realizes that she’s lost her cool, she shutters her gaze. “Sure. That’d be cool.”

Penelope laces her fingers in front of herself and faces me calmly, like she’s giving a dance tip to correct my form. “I’ve got my schedule written out for the next week. I can send it to you. Today, I meet with Juan Pablo to set up our training for the upcoming competition, and Pierre and I have classes starting at three and going until eight.”

I nod. “Elsa can accompany you to the studio. I’ll be there before classes are done.” They’ll be fine. The stalker doesn’t strike when anyone can see him.

Elsa glances between us. “Uh…shower?”

Penelope smiles. “I don’t have to be there for an hour and a half. Will that give you time to stop at your place and get what you need?”

“That works.” Elsa flips her glasses down and heads for the door.

Penelope nervously glances at me but gratefully follows Elsa.

Everything’s going according to plan. Now for the next step, and I can’t have anyone helping me with this. No one can know what I’m doing.
