Oliver glares at his alpha. “Grey!”

Grey doesn’t back down, though a hint of regret passes through his gaze. ”What? She looks awful."

"Thank you. Such a goddam charmer." I scramble to gather all my papers, stuffing them into my bag.

I don't know how long I slept, but I still feel like shit. I'm going to head back to my nest and sleep until morning. No more work for me tonight.

Though I do have one more essay to finish up. Maybe I can finish that first.

"You should take better care of yourself." Grey has his hands fisted on his hips, disapproval radiating from him.

Too bad I’ve never given a single shit about alpha approval.

"You should take better care of what comes out of your mouth." My eyes widen at the snark coming out of my mouth.

I'm not usually one to snap at people, especially virtual strangers, but something about Grey gets my back up. It's probably his scent. It puts me on edge with how tempting it is.

Oliver elbows Grey, who winces. "Sorry about him. But are you alright?"

"Just tired. I'm fine. I'm not your responsibility." I don't need some alpha who isn't mine to get all overprotective and growly because I missed one night of sleep.

He doesn't know how often I do this and even if he did, I'm not his business.

Oliver shoots his alpha another glare. “He's not usually such a typical alpha. Ignore him. And no offense, but you do look...tired."

"Aren't you guys so sweet? Anyway, see ya later." I haul my bag over my shoulder and stomp off, irritation rattling through me.

"Wait. Aurora. Wait." Oliver hurries after me, Grey right behind him.

I huff a sigh and stop, turning to glare at the two frustrating pricks. "Yes?"

"We're sorry. Instincts are riding us hard." Grey finally loses some of his alphahole vibe.

But it’s too late.

"You should do a better job of burying those instincts. Ones our society allows you to indulge in." I suck in a sharp breath and pinch the bridge of my nose. "Look, I appreciate your concern, but it's incredibly unnecessary."

Grey sighs. “And condescending. We are sorry."

"Apology accepted. See ya."

This time, they don't stop me as I turn and leave, dragging myself back to my suite. Instead of working on my essay, I drop my bag in the chair by the door and crawl into my nest.

I'm out as soon as my head hits my pile of pillows.

KNOCKING PULLS ME OUT of sleep yet again. Why won't people leave me alone?

My nose wrinkles when I open the door to Oliver and Grey. "Why are you stalking me? I thought you wanted me to sleep?"

"We brought food." Oliver holds up a greasy bag in my face.

My stomach rumbles as I rub at my face. "Why? I am so confused."

Grey holds his own bag of greasy food. “It's an apology."

I cross my arms. “Is it? Or is it another way to take care of me?"
