Chapter Eighteen

Aurora

#

I WAKE UP WRAPPED IN Grey’s arms to a knock at the front door. My body is heavy and lethargic, the emotions of the day before taking its toll. Crying myself to sleep typically does this too.

Grey squeezes me before he releases my body and scoots away. "Stay here. I'll make them go away."

I groan and bury myself beneath the covers, not at all ready to greet the day quite yet. I try to doze back off, but familiar scents and voices catch my attention.

Looks like Grey’s omega and beta came to track him down.

I grunt when a body slides into the nest, snuggling into mine, carrying the scent of parchment and petrichor.

Oliver.

He kisses the top of my head. ”Thanks for saving my beta. You are amazing."

I bury my face deeper in the blankets. “I just pepper sprayed a few alphas. It was pretty fun. No big deal."

"Yes, it was. Thank your beta friend for me too." Oliver snuggles closer.

"I will. She did the heavy lifting."

Oliver pokes my side, making me yelp and curse. “I heard she's gorgeous."

"She is." Enzo growls the words from outside the nest, still a bit salty over Trix for whatever reason.

I huff. “She's a good friend."

"I'd say so if she's willing to drive you that far for something like that."

"Can we come in too?" Enzo asks.

I sigh. “Yeah, okay."

Grey and Enzo crawl inside my tiny nest, the beta curling up behind me and the alpha behind Oliver.

"Where's your other alpha?"

The one I still haven't met.

"He got called into the hospital,” Enzo says. “It's why we're back early."

"He's a doctor?"

"Yes."

I nod and snuggle back into the covers, and into the two men wrapping me up between them. I'm too tired to fight it or send them away. And too raw after everything that happened yesterday. Their scents and their touches comfort and calm me.

Maybe tomorrow I'll research and experiment with what is omega biology and what is just my personal needs. I love touch and affection, though in my case it probably has less to do with designation and more to do with the lack of it growing up. My omega father was affectionate, but typically only when my mother wasn't around.
