Grey rakes his fingers through his hair. ”Shit."

Rose sighs. ”Exactly."

My phone dings with another notification, and I groan as I read the email.

"What now?" Rose asks.

I sink onto the edge of my chair. "The OCP has already seen it. They're sending a representative to speak with me this evening to discuss my future with the program."

Chapter Nineteen

Aurora

I FORCE MY LEG TO STAY still as I'm left in the waiting room for half an hour past the appointment time. I hate these fucking games they like to play. Just kick me out of the program, and get it over with.

My phone buzzes in my pocket, but I ignore it for now. There's no information I can give to whoever is messaging me. It's probably the nosy pack that keeps trying to take me under their wing. They had a lot of questions after Rose burst in with the news, but I didn't answer many, instead ushering them from my rooms, promising to explain later.

Not that there's much left to explain. All of it is online for their viewing pleasure. More and more information keeps coming out about me and my work for OFF. Not just me either, a few of the others high up in the organization were hit as well.

And now we're all fucked.

It's brilliant, really. To go after us, to weaken the movement.

Though I haven't done a single thing illegal. I've been incredibly careful not to. Well, other than attending the rally. But it's a fineable offense, so that should only come with a slap on the wrist ,and I have plenty of money to pay their ridiculous fines if they decide to be assholes.

A female alpha with a pinched mouth and glacial eyes sticks her head out of the door. "Ms. Miller?”

"Yes?"

"We're ready for you." She gives me a disappointed sneer and ducks back into the room.

"Thank you." I rise to my feet and sweep into the room, head held high.

I refuse to cower and beg and plead in front of these people.
