While he took his call, I glanced around the room, my heart beating a little too fast. The designer had used gold accents and plush carpet and bright lights to infuse decadence into the décor. It certainly wasn’t the sordid human trafficking scenario that Bree had conjured up.

When Henryk hung up the phone, I stole another glance at him. Which was a mistake of course, because every time I looked his way, my stomach twisted, and heat poured through me.

He was way too attractive.

His brow furrowed and I curled my fingers into a fist against the ridiculous urge to smooth the lines away.“Are you all right?”

“The plane delivering Viktor and Silas has been delayed and they won’t be here until tomorrow.” He spoke as if this was done purposefully to prolong the amount of time he had to spend with me. I didn’t want to be offended. Unfortunately, I was.

I shrugged like I wasn’t. “I’ll find a hotel and just stay there for the night.”

Tomorrow was another day. A big one. And I was going to see all of my “husbands” again. A week ago, I’d been lamenting the lack of excitement in my life, and now I was a polygamist, divorcing three men at once. If nothing else, I had a great new party story. Plus, I had a stamp in my passport. Finally.

Henryk sighed again. This was a man who, without saying a word, could make it sound as if the weight of the world rested solely on his shoulders. “I’m sorry, but I have commitments tomorrow that I simply can’t reschedule. You can come back to the Vaduz with me tonight, and then we will have Silas and Viktor meet us there tomorrow.” When I stared at him blankly, more concerned about the details now. The delay of the others’ arrival was convenient. I had no idea where or what Vaduz was or why I would go there rather than to a hotel. What commitments were so important he couldn’t reschedule to secure his divorce? “Vaduz Castle. It’s the home of the royal family.”

My mouth dropped open. “Did you just say castle?” And more than that,Royal family?
