Red was victorious!

Our whole house broke out into cheers.

“The baby, the baby!” Cash warned, covering Asher’s little ears.

I was over the moon. “He did it! I knew he could do it!”

The cameraman raced up to Red, an interviewer hot on their heels. “What an amazing performance! Is there anything you’d like to say?”

“My opponent fought hard and honorably,” Red said courteously. “It takes the best to beat the best, and I’ll happily fight him again in the future.”

“Is there anybody you’d like to thank?”

“My family. I dedicate every one of my fights to my family.”

“Do you think they’re watching you now?”

Red looked directly into the camera and smiled. “I know they are.”

I kissed Cash on the cheek. “He’s talking to us.”

“Man, I’m proud of him. You realize this means he’s undefeated? He’s going to be holding up that championship belt in no time.”

“And so are you,” I assured. “You’re both going to be champions. I know it deep in my heart.”
