Everything went silent.

I felt like a hundred different eyes were on me and myverysee-through shirt and bralette. I blushed furiously when I realized that Dylan, Red, and Cash were all staring.

What a shitty day to choose a hot pink bra!

“Excuse me,” I murmured hastily, booking it to the washroom.

The first thing I did was shed my shirt and ring it out over the sink. Every inch of my skin was sticky and stunk of beer. My attempt at drying my shirt beneath the hand dryer was futile and left terrible wrinkles in its wake.

There was a knock on the door. Dylan called, “Julia?”

“Um, ocupado?”

“I just wanted to check to see if you were alright.”

“Never better,” I mumbled. “Please tell me Cash and Red aren’t going to beat him to death in the back alley.”

“Do you want them to?” Dylan asked from the other side of the door. “Because I’m sure they’d jump at the chance.”

I chuckled. “No, I don’t want them to. I think that’s enough excitement for one night.”

“Don’t worry. His wife and daughter dragged him out by the ear after Irene gave him a tongue lashing. I’m sorry we didn’t stop him before you got drenched.”

“Why are you apologizing? It wasn’t your fau—Eek!” I accidentally stepped in my own puddle and slipped on the tile.

Dylan rushed in, pushing past the women’s bathroom door in alarm. He reached out to me, grasping me lightly by the elbows. “What happened? Are you—”

He stopped and swallowed. His eyes flitted down to my exposed bra. The cool air made my nipples hard and my skin a light pink.

He was close. Maybe a littletooclose, yet I wanted nothing more than to close the gap.

Dylan licked his lips. “Are you okay?” he asked, voice low and raspy.

“I’m fine,” I whispered, my throat just as hoarse.

He stepped forward, moving into my space. The air around us was electric, crackling against my skin. We were getting so close that I could feel the heat of his body, a welcome sensation against the cold.

A shiver passed through me, goosebumps trailing in its wake. A wet heat blossomed deep within my core and pooled between my legs, an untamed hunger suddenly awakening inside me.

His hands slipped from my arms, his fingers grazing my hips. It sent a thrill through me, one that left me breathless and eager for more.

I wanted to know what his hands would feel like on my body, exploring every curve and dip beneath his rough palms.

“Julia,” he mumbled, his eyes dark with unquestionable want.

“Yes?”

Dylan dipped his head down, our lips so close I could feel the ghost of his breath against my cheeks. “Julia, I want…”

“Yes?” I urged, tilting my chin up to get that much closer. “Tell me what you want, Dylan.”

“I want—”

The bathroom door swung open. Irene stepped in with a clean towel she must have grabbed from the kitchen. She froze, her gaze moving between me and her brother. “Oh?” she said suggestively.

Dylan took a step back, clearing his throat. “I was just, uh—”

“I had something in my eye,” I lied.

Dammit, so close.

“Of course,” Irene said, though clearly she didn’t believe me at all.

Dylan sighed, pulled off his sweater, and handed it to me. He had a tight black shirt underneath, much to my disappointment. “Put this on,” he said quickly before leaving without another word.

His sister wasn’t very good at suppressing her sly grin. “Are you two…”

“No,” I said, shaking my head. “No, it’s not like that.”

Unfortunately.
