Asher chuckled but looked to Harry fondly. “He is.”

Having heard enough of that, Harry picked up the duffle bag, which was his cue to move along. Yunho linked his arm with Asher and they began a slow walk up to the house, Harry walking behind them. He didn’t mind. It gave him a good chance to take in every detail.

The house was a mansion and straight out of a movie. Harry had to wonder how big the island was and if Yunho owned the whole thing. He suspected he might. Inside the house was all open space, from what Harry could see, white marble and million-dollar views from every window.

“I shall take you to your room,” Yunho said. “It’s the guest quarters on the ground floor. I didn’t think you’d want to tackle the stairs.”

Harry followed, bewildered at the expense of everything. But Yunho seemed very down to earth, very concerned about Asher. Harry didn’t know much about clothes but he knew expensive when he saw it. Harry suspected his guess of Yunho being North Korean was correct. His dark hair was a little shaggy, and Harry put his age somewhere between thirty-five and fifty. He was a little campy, had a wide smile, sharp eyes, and an old scar that ran down the side of his neck.

The room he took them to was the size of a presidential suite in some fancy hotel. It was basically an entire apartment. In fact, the bedroom was larger than most places Harry had ever lived in, complete with the biggest bed Harry had ever seen, a full bathroom, a living area with a huge flat-screen TV.

Asher walked straight to the bed and slowly sat down. He looked beat. It had been a big day for him. “You okay?” Harry asked him. “Can I get you anything?”

He took a breath in and out and slow-blinked. “Could you please get the blinds for me. Might take some of those pain pills and rest a while, if that’s okay?”

Yunho rushed to the windows, quickly closing the blinds and darkening the room considerably. “I’m so sorry, my darling,” he said. “I should have asked.”

Asher waved his hand. “I haven’t been able to do much these last few days. Today kind of took it out of me. I just need to rest for a bit, and I’ll be fine. We have so much to talk about.”

Harry filled a glass with tap water and handed two pills to Asher. Then he knelt before him, unlaced his boots, and pulled them off. “Does that feel okay?”

He glanced up at Asher to find him smiling back at him. “Thank you.”

Harry helped him lay down, pulled the covers over him and made sure he was comfortable. “You can rest now,” Harry murmured, though he was sure Asher was already asleep.

“I’ve organised the doctor to come tomorrow,” Yunho said gently. He looked fraught with worry.

Harry gave a nod. “Thank you.”

He nodded toward the door. “Can we talk?”

Harry followed Yunho back out to the living room, a large room open to the ocean views with expensive furniture and artworks. Yunho sat and waited for Harry to do the same. He fidgeted with his fingers, nervous. “He is not well. To see him so vulnerable...”

“He is better than he was. He is strong and determined,” Harry offered. “He’s talking and thinking clearer than he was, so he’s improving.”

Yunho’s expression turned grim. “I’d be remiss not to ask if you made those assholes who hurt him suffer the worst, but I saw the photographs. The police found the bodies two days ago.”

“Oh? You saw photographs?”

“I was following to see if anything had been reported. Any witnesses, that kind of thing. The photographs were... somewhat gruesome.”

Harry raised his chin. “I’m not sorry for what I did.”

Yunho’s gaze cut to his. “I’m glad you did it.”

“Every time I see him wince or see the bruises on his back and sides, it makes me want to kill them all over again. And I’m going to make Parrish pay.”

Yunho smiled, and he gave a nod. “Good.”

“I’d very much like to rip the man’s spine out,” Harry said without an ounce of sarcasm. “But Asher seems to think there may be a better way. Something about taking everything away from him and ruining him instead. Asher said it would hurt him more. Not really my style, but he might have a point.”

Now he smiled fondly. “Ah, Asher. He always was a quick learner.” He studied Harry for a long moment. “You care for him,” he said. Not a question but a statement, an observation.

Harry felt the man’s assessment. There was no point in denying it. “I do.”

Yunho seemed happy to focus on the horizon of the ocean for a long beat. “And he cares for you. I never thought I’d see the day, but the way he looked at you...” He sighed and smiled at Harry. “I joked with him yesterday on the phone that he had it bad for you, but I didn’t realise just how true that was.”

Harry’s gaze lasered in on him. “Is that a problem?”
