He sounded amused. “Oh, my darling. That sounds terrible for you.”

Asher looked Harry up and down. “So terrible.”

Harry cleared his throat. “I can hear this conversation. I’m standing right here.”

Still grinning, Asher took the phone off speaker and pressed it to his ear. Whatever the man said to him made him laugh. “Yes, please do. … Oh, you know I will.” He chuckled again. “Yes. Soon.”

He ended the call, and Harry glared at him. “Well hung?”

Asher shrugged. “I’m not going to lie to him.”

Harry resisted the urge to growl. “Yes, soon, what?”

“What?”

“You just said ‘yes, soon.’ What does that mean?” He tried not to yell. “What are you doing soon?”

Asher stared at him. He wasn’t smiling now. That look of fire and daring was back. “Soon,” he said with a sneer. “I will see him soon. It’s how we end all conversations and have done for many years.” He raised his chin, his smile smug. “Jealous?”

“No.”

He took a step closer. “Are you jealous, Harry?”

“No. And we’re not doing that fight-sex thing again, so back off.”

“Fight-sex is my favourite.”

“That’s messed up.”

Asher laughed. “You can’t tell me you didn’t like it. I have your come in me to prove—”

“Jesus, Asher. Do you have to talk like that?”

Asher grinned like this was all part of the game. He undid the button on his jeans. “We have a few hours to fill in, Harry. I can’t think of anything else for us to do, can you?”

“A hundred different things.”

He undid his fly. “But nothing like this.”

Christ.

“You’re pissed off,” Asher continued. “You’re angry that you saw your old army friend at the security gate. You’re pissed off that your government sold you out. You have pent up energy. Anger.” He held his hands out like claws. “You want someone to pay. You want to put your hands around their necks—”

“Someone, yes. The assholes who sold me out, yes. Not you.”

“Not even if I ask nicely?”

“No.”

Asher sighed petulantly and sat on the bed. “You ruined the mood.”

“There was no mood.” Harry pulled over one of the chairs at the small table and sat on it. “And considering what I did to you this morning, you should be thanking me for saying no.”

Asher wiggled his ass and smiled. “I’m just fine, thanks. You let me worry about my ass.”

Harry raised an eyebrow at him. He needed to change the subject. “What’s the plan from here? Where do we go?”

“The plan was more fucking, but you said no.”
