“Prince Jameson, how is this different from your father?”

Dani stiffened but Jameson stood taller, that last question seeming to spark something within.

“I’m going to make an official statement. You’re here because you’ve heard the rumors circulating about our possible involvement. I want to be clear: the rumors are true. I love Duchess. She and I are involved in a very serious relationship, of which the Palace has full knowledge, and members of the family have given us their blessing. Coming at the end of this week honoring the legacy of Prince John, I’d also like to state that my grandfather would’ve loved Duchess. I have no doubt they would’ve gotten along famously, andhe would’ve been extremely happy for me. Since I know how these things work, let me further say that any ‘sources’ claiming anything to the contrary are simply the ravings of attention seekers who don’t know anything about my family.”

Dani’s eyes widened as the import of what he said dawned. Not only had he acknowledged their relationship, he’d claimed it was approved by the Palace, placing doubt on anyone who came forward to say differently.

This would definitely help her with her business dealings, but more important, the world had been put on notice. She had her man.

As more flashes erupted, Dani hugged Jameson close. “Well done. That was an excellent statement. There might be hope for you yet.”

He gazed down at her, and despite the blinding lights, she could see his eyes were warm and full of love. “Thank you. I took the statement the Palace intended to make and changed some of the details.”

They kissed again as the inquisition continued.

“How long have you been dating?”

“Where are you going to live?”

“Duchess, what does this mean for your music career?”

“Will Her Majesty grant Mela-Skin a Royal Warrant?”

“That’s all for now,” a familiar voice called out. “His Royal Highness and Duchess have no further comment!”

Dani didn’t think anything else could surprise her tonight, but seeing the Royal Household’s senior events coordinator striding briskly across the tarmac to stand next to them proved her wrong.

“Girl, I hope you get overtime,” she muttered to Louisa.

“I do not. Why? Can you do better?”

Dani smiled widely. “Yeah, I think I can.”

It might help to have someone on her team who understood theins and outs of the royal family, considering what Dani had just signed up for.

As they stood there at the base of the plane, in the glare of the airport and camera lights, the paparazzi ignored Louisa’s decree and continued shouting.

All good questions.

All things she and Jay would need to figure out.

Later.
