“Fuck off. You know what I’m asking. Is she as hot in person as she is in her videos?”

Just thinking about Dani’s videos and what he’d done to himself had Jameson fighting for control.

He cleared his throat. “I guess.”

“You guess? Did you see the one where she stuck out her tongue and licked the screen?”

Jameson swallowed. He hadn’t and he wasn’t sure he should.

Rhys narrowed his eyes. “What’s wrong with you?”

“Nothing.”

The other man leaned forward and studied him. “You’re looking a little peaked. Your eyes are bloodshot, and you have shadows beneath them. Have you been drinking already?”

“No! I may not have been getting enough sleep.”

“Because of her?”

“Why would it be her? I barely know her.”

“I can’t imagine a man alive who would have her staying in his house and not use the chance to get to know her.”

Jameson exhaled and ran a hand through his hair. The woman was so... present. She was one small person, but she somehow managed to take up a large amount of space. She was everywhere, which made her impossible to ignore.

“Is the attraction mutual?”

“Who said I was attracted to her?”

“I mean, you’re not hideous,” Rhys continued, as if he hadn’t heard Jameson. “You’ve made the unofficial listing of hottest professor every year you’ve been here.”

Jameson scoffed. “That’s a low bar to hurdle. My only competition is Benton, Stolberg, and you.”

“You didn’t answer my question.”

He remembered the way she’d looked at him. When I was told the prince had invited me, you definitely weren’t what I had in mind.

“Maybe. But it’s irrelevant. You know why I’m doing this. Besides, I’ve been given a separate mission to keep her away from Julian.”

“One way to do that would be to get involved with her yourself.”

One way, but not the best way. Though his body liked that idea very much.

“It’s only been a couple of days and she has you bothered. She’s going to be at Primrose Park for two weeks. Secluded. Alone. Just the two of you—”

“And a house full of staff.”

Rhys waved that off. “What are you going to do?”

“Keep my distance, as much as possible. Once the festivities begin, it won’t be a problem.”

“And is that why you’re like this?” Rhys gestured to him. “Because you wish you’d made another decision?”

Sometimes Rhys was a little more perceptive than Jameson wanted.

“No. This is about being forced to host someone in my space when I wasn’t expecting to. You know I’m not good at being social.”

Massive understatement.
