I looked into his beautiful green eyes, the ones I’d lost myself in so many times in the last two years. “What’s that?”

“Tell me. I want to hear it from your lips. Tell me.”

I looked at him, puzzled.

“Do you love me?”

I was quiet for a moment. Finally, I found my voice. “I've loved you since the first time I laid eyes on you, since our first kiss, since our first night together, and everything in between. That’s why I left. I loved you too much to hold you back.”

Liam put his arms around me and drew me to his chest. “Silver, you could never hold me back. If anything, I feel more motivated than ever to give you and the baby a better life.”

“I don’t want you to have to do that. I like working. I like the business world. I want to be a mother and have a career too.”

“Do whatever makes you happy. As long as we’re together, that’s all that matters.”

“You make me happy,” I said, pulling back from Liam’s embrace. “And this baby,” I said, patting my belly, “Makes me happy.”

Liam bent down on one knee. “Then marry me,” he said. He pulled out a box and opened it, offering it to me. Inside was a gorgeous marquis diamond ring surrounded by sapphires. “I promise you and the baby, we will never have a dull moment. I’ll be the best husband and father this world has ever seen.”

I chucked. Knowing Liam the way I did, I knew this was all too true.

“Are you sure?” I asked. “It’s a lifetime commitment.”

“I’m counting on it. I’ve never been more certain of anything in my life. What do you say?”

I smiled. “Yes, Liam.”

I was suddenly aware of everyone in the room as they broke out, clapping as they all stared at us. I looked around to see the faces of our friends from Vegas and my old friends from Nashville, where Ray and I had grown up. Liam slipped the ring on my finger. He stood up and took me in his arms for a theatrical kiss. The crowd of friends and family hooted and hollered.

Ray and Tyler walked up to us where we were in front of the cake and dessert table. Ray had a microphone in her hand.

“The big reveal is now. Everyone wants to know and we can’t wait any longer so...” Ray looked over at me and gestured to the waiters, who brought out a large box that was decorated like a wrapped present in a mix of pastel colors. It was about ten feet square and half as tall.

I looked at Liam who was next to me and grabbed his hand. “You’re going to find out now if our child is going to be a son or a daughter,” I said. “Are you ready?”

“I can't wait,” he said.

Liam and Tyler got on each side of the box to lift its lid off. Within seconds hundreds of helium balloons spread across the ballroom from every corner of the room. Pink balloons. Everyone went wild clapping and whistling.

“She’s a girl,” I whispered to Liam.

He put his hand on my stomach. “I can’t wait to meet her.”

“Neither can I,” I said.

“I am so ready to slay dragons for her,” he said. “For both of you.”

There were a lot more cheers as Liam’s lips came down on mine. I laughed against his lips, feeling happier than I had ever felt in my life. I had Liam, and my baby girl on the way. My life was complete now.

We were complete.
