“Tell me.” His gravelly voice was soft and gentle. So different from office Jonah. More like grrr angry, off-putting Jonah, who she might actually like more. Which was a shock to her. Office Jonah and Logan seemed to have a lot more in common than grrr Jonah.

She sighed and closed her eyes. “You’re going to ask me about Logan, but I don’t know what to tell you. We haven’t ever gone out. I’ve had a major crush on him for months. He doesn’t know, or at least I haven’t told him. But it’s not likely to happen, which is what my friends keep telling me. Over and over again.”

“Why couldn’t it happen?”

She opened her eyes expecting to see him mocking her, but his eyes were sincere. He legit wanted to know why it couldn’t happen. Besides her track record with her infatuations, she could probably list off a dozen other reasons why it wouldn’t happen.

But if Jonah thought it was a possibility. . . and Loganhadcalled her cute today. . . . But the reality of the situation was. . . .

“I’m not his type.” She looked down at her hands. It hurt to admit it, but she couldn’t deny it.

“What’s his type?” Jonah’s voice was soft and not accusatory.

She sighed and reclined on the couch, covering her eyes with her hands. “Sexy, experienced, cool. Someone like your girlfriend probably.”

“Girlfriend?”

“Candy.” She dropped her hands and looked at him. “Candy would be Logan’s type and obviously I’m no Candy.”
