“That kiss landed you flat on your back with my dick in your cunt.”

I turned around, pressing my back against his chest and my ass against his crotch. “Who says that’s not my plan?” Something like a growl rumbled in his chest, making me smile. “Wrap your arms around my waist.” He did, and I breathed in at the electricity of his touch. I lifted my arms in the air above my head. “Now, glide one hand down the front of my body.” He slid his hand down, letting his fingertips skim dangerously close to my center. “All the way down my thigh.” I closed my eyes and swallowed. “Trail your other hand upward.” He moved his other hand over my waist then along the side of my body. “Up my arm.” His touch was so smooth, so gentle, so careful. It was nothing like the monster I knew lurked within him—a side I would bet not many people got to see. “See how you can feel what I’m feeling without me saying a word? The energy moves from my body to yours with a single touch.” I bent at the waist, dipping my body forward, and both of his hands instinctively flew to my waist. My body twirled around so that we were facing each other. I opened my eyes. “It’s an unspoken language.” I placed one of his hands on my lower back and held his other hand in mine. “Just like sex.” Then I interlocked our legs, pressing my core against his thigh. “Move with me.” I urged his hips backward with my own, then forward again, repeating the pattern until there was no more distinction between where he ended and I began. My heart raced, and my breath stuttered. “Take a step backward.” He moved, and I moved with him. “Another.” He moved again, and so did I, but our connection never faltered. He moved his hand from my back to behind my thigh, lifting my leg to his hip. I hooked my arms around his neck, and his whiskey eyes darkened.

Caspian licked his lips, then brought his other hand to my ass. As he was about to lift me up, Lincoln’s voice echoed across the room.

“Get the man some tights and a tutu. He’s a natural.” He stood at the last row of seats, chewing on a toothpick in one corner of his mouth. His black T-shirt and jeans hung loosely on his tall, lean frame.

Caspian’s grip tightened on the back of my thigh.

My heart thrashed wildly in my chest at the sound of Lincoln’s voice. He’s going to tell our dad.I couldn’t think, couldn’t speak, but somehow I pushed air in and out of my lungs, forcing myself to stay strong. My brother’s eyes met mine, mischief dancing like fire in their depths. I didn’t move, though. I stayed right here in front of Caspian, ready for whatever happened next.

Lincoln continued as he took a few steps forward. “I heard you were back from exile but didn’t realize you were back to fucking my sister.”

Caspian let go of me and took a step back. Tension rolled off him in waves. The atmosphere vibrated with it. “That was one. Disrespect Tatum like that again, and I’ll make sure you have a matching scar on the other cheek.”

I let out a strangled breath.

Lincoln ran his finger along the marred skin from his temple to just below his cheekbone. “Do your best, pretty boy. I never got to thank you for the first one. The chicks really dig it.”

My mind ran circles around his words.Thank him? What was Lincoln talking about? The race? He blamed Caspian for the wreck? Ethan was driving the night of Lincoln’s accident, and Caspian’s car was a mess, too. Why would Lincoln blame him? If anyone, he should have been angry with Ethan.

“Stop being a dick, Lincoln. It was an accident.”

The air grew thick with silence once the music stopped.

Caspian narrowed his eyes and studied my face.

Then Lincoln threw his head back with a laugh. The malice in it made my hair stand on end. “Oh, shit.” His eyes widened, and he pulled the toothpick from his mouth with his tattooed fingers. “That’s right.” He looked at Caspian as he made his way down the aisle and toward the stage. “We told her it was anaccident.” He made air quotes around the last word. “But you wouldn’t have known that because you weren’t here.”

Caspian’s jaw ticked as his gaze shot to Lincoln. “Fuck off. You know why I wasn’t here.”

What the hell was going on? Why would Lincoln know why Caspian left when I still didn’t even know?

I took a step toward Caspian. My mind was screaming, but I forced myself to remain calm. “What is he talking about? Why is he blaming you for the wreck? And why does he get to know why you left and I don’t?”

“You wanna tell her, or should I?” Lincoln asked.

“I said, fuck off.” Caspian’s voice was cold and harsh.

“Ohhhh, that’s it, Romeo. Show her who youreallyare.” Lincoln moved along the front row and took a seat in one of the chairs. He propped a booted foot on his knee. “I can’t wait for the show. Too bad I don’t have popcorn.”

“I’m not playing your games, you psychotic fuck.” Caspian turned his attention to me and cradled my face in his hands. “We’ll finish this later. I promise.” The chill in his tone disappeared when he spoke to me, like a switch had been flipped.

I huffed a laugh. “You promise.” Right.

His eyes darkened. “If I don’t leaveright now, I’m going to fuck him up, and trust me, that’s not something you need to see.”

Lincoln was unpredictable and maybe even a little crazy. He was like a tornado hellbent on destruction. But Caspian was like the ocean. On the surface, he was beautiful and calm. Underneath it all, he possessed the power to steal the life from your lungs without warning.

Animosity became a palpable presence in the room. It was then that I finally realized just how deep the hatred between our families was rooted. I’d always known. I’d heard it in conversations and seen it in my father’s expressions. But I’d never actually witnessed it firsthand until now.

I had truly and wholly fallen for the enemy.

Lincoln knew it, and soon, my father would too.

Caspian leaned forward and brought his mouth to mine. My lips parted when he ran his tongue across the bottom one. Then he kissed me.

And I kissed him back, not caring that Lincoln was watching, or that this kiss was most likely Caspian’s personalfuck youto my brother, or about the fallout that was inevitable.
