“Thanks, Garrett. It’s nice to have some appreciation around here.” I glare at Dylan and he smirks.

“Pretty sure Luke appreciated you just fine last night,” he has the balls to say.

I blush, recalling how loud Luke and I were. They never said the place was soundproof. Luke winks at me with a smug smile and chews his bite of pancake while everyone else laughs. Ugh. Men.

I sit on Luke’s lap and he cuts off a piece of pancake and I bite it off his fork.

“Ack. You guys are feeding each other now?” Garrett says as he scrunches his nose.

Luke grins and feeds me another piece as they all groan. I’ll take the victories where I can get them.

“What are we doing today?” I ask Luke.

He sighs. “I have to appear at Reilly Tech. People are getting curious about my absence. It’s unusual for me to be away this long. Emilia only has so many excuses.”

It will be the first time we’ll be apart since we got here and sadness settles on my shoulders. “How long will it take?”

“I hope to be home by dinner. Around six.”

So all day. I pout, and he bites my bottom lip that turns into a deep kiss. He pulls away before we get more annoyed groans.

“Can I come?” I can’t hide the hope in my voice.

He shakes his head no. “It’s safer for you here.”

I sigh and relent with a sullen nod.

“Why don’t you go in the hot tub?” he asks and I smile.

“That sounds like a good idea,” I say, looking forward to the relaxing massage.

When we finish eating, Luke heads to our room to get ready for his meeting and Jordy heads out the sliding door to the deck and gets the hot tub going for me. Mark and Garrett go to their rooms while Dylan and I clean up the dishes.

When we’re finished, I head down the hall and enter our room. I peel my clothes off and change into my bathing suit. I pull my hair into a messy bun as I enter the bathroom. Luke is in the shower, his eyes closed and his head back, his hands running through his hair as he rinses his shampoo. I can’t help but stare. He’s perfect.

“Are you going to keep staring or are you planning on joining me?” he asks without opening his eyes.

I chuckle. “Just enjoying the view. I’ll take a shower later.”

He looks at me and smirks as he turns off the tap. He opens the glass door and I hand him his towel. “I’m hoping my sudden presence will confuse Scotty. That’s assuming he’s still lurking around and not sipping tequila in Mexico.”

The uneasiness hasn’t changed since we arrived. It won’t until they find Scotty. My poor brother is pulling his hair out, convinced Scotty must have help to evade the police for so long. The good news is he thinks he’s left the country, which makes me feel a little better.

Luke hangs up his towel and cups my face, pressing his lips to mine in a gentle kiss. “They’ll find him, babe.” His touch calms me, as it always does, and he heads out to the bedroom. I turn to the mirror to apply moisturizer on my face. I use the toilet and wash my hands and walk out to the room.

Luke is wrapping his dark red tie around his neck. I brush his hands away and tie it for him, enjoying the domestic display. His eyes never leave my face as his lips curve up in a gentle smile. When I tuck his collar down, I stand on my tiptoes and brush my lips over his. He reaches for me, but I duck away.

“Hurry home.” I toss him a wink and grab a towel before I head down the hallway and smile when I hear his laughter.

I plop onto the couch next to Dylan. Mark and Garrett join us in the living room, both dressed in sharp black suits.

Luke comes out of our room a few minutes later and it’s like he walks in slow motion. His hair is slicked back, and he looks every bit the billionaire tech mogul in his thousand dollar suit that fits him like a glove.

I stand as he approaches, humming in appreciation. “Jesus. You in a suit does it for me, babe.”

“Are you having flashbacks to our first time?”

I hum my affirmative. “You better go before I maul you.”
