“Hi.” She smiles and fidgets with the strap of a canvas bag over her shoulder. Vera chuckles as she pushes past me into the condo and knocks me out of my trance. I hold the door and step aside for Liv. A pretty blush climbs up her neck as she moves past me. I catch a whiff of her tropical scent and close my eyes for a second. I recover in time to register her brother in my peripheral. How the hell did I miss him?

He gives me a knowing smirk.Shit. “Thanks for the invite,” he says. I grab his huge hand when he offers it, and we shake.

“Of course. Good to see you.” He moves past me into the condo, and I take a deep breath after shutting the door.

Liv holds up the bag as I enter the kitchen. “We brought wine. Wasn’t sure if you guys liked it, but if not, we figured we could refine your palate a little.”

“You’ll impress the hell out of me if you make that happen.” I take the bag from her and she laughs. She’s so pretty.

I rein in a dreamy sigh that the guys would give me endless shit over and set the bag on the counter. The overwhelming urge to have her in my arms takes over.

“Hang on, something is missing.” I hold my arms out and a beautiful smile lights up her face. She closes the distance between us, wrapping her arms around my torso. I’m addicted to the feel of her warm body against mine.

“I missed you,” I whisper into her hair.

“Get a room, you filthy sluts!” Jackson yells as he walks towards us. We both look over at him, and she steps away and rubs her palms on her jeans as she chuckles.

I shoot him a glare and he laughs. “How’s my best girl?” He opens his arms for a hug and she purses her lips and crosses her arms.

“I was doing great until some asshole interrupted one of the best hugs of my life.” She glares at him but can’t hide her amused smirk.

Jackson drops his arms and raises his eyebrow at me. “Damn bro. You’re killing it.” He holds out his fist and we bump to Liv’s melodious laughter. I smile as her words sink in and my pride skyrockets. I couldn’t agree with her assessment more.

Skye approaches and wraps Liv up in a warm hug. It surprises her at first, but she grins and returns the embrace. Skye steps back and takes her hands. “Welcome to the family.”

The blood drains from my face. Liv blushes and meets my panicked gaze. “Um...”

Skye looks at me over her shoulder, her eyes full of mischief, then drops Liv’s hands and cackles. “Oh my God, did you see his face? Fucking priceless,” she sputters and I grab her around the shoulders and ruffle her hair until she squeals for me to stop.

“Not cool, Bug.”

Still chuckling, she attempts to fix her hair that’s now a tangled mess. “Worth it.” She winks at me and turns to Liv.

“I’m so happy he’s found you. Now that he has his own life, he can quit poking his nose into mine."

Liv smiles and glances at me.

“Don’t hold your breath,” I say, but Skye ignores me.

“I have a big brother, too. I get it,” Liv says.

Skye laughs. “I-” she cuts off when she notices John in the living room. Vera is introducing him to Brando and Jackson. “Oh my God, who is that?” Her eyes go wide and my blood pressure rises.

Liv glances into the living room. “That would be my big brother, John.”

“I’ll say,” Skye says, her gaze glued to him.

I’m about to grumble my protest, but Jordy stops me with a firm head shake. My eyes hit the ceiling for a few seconds, and I sigh. If I make a big deal out of it, it will only encourage Skye to drive me crazy.

She bolts to the mirror in the hall and fixes her hair and adjusts her clothing. My fists clench, but Liv puts her hand on my chest and I relax as I look down at her. “John would never. She’s way too young. Here, drink this.”

I take a sip of the beer she hands me.

“Hi Liv, I’m Jordy.” He holds out his hand to shake.

“Oh, hi! Luke’s told me all about you. It’s so great to meet you.” Liv ignores his hand to give him a hug. Jackson frowns at her from the living room.

Jordy’s smile is genuine as he hugs her. “Not surprised. I’m his favorite.”
